Chapter 16: Wedding Ring

I got up a little late because of my double-date yesterday. I went outside and breakfast was already set. 

"Oh goodie!" Channie said. Then he pulled me to the table. 

"Noona ppalli! Breakfast!" Deullie said. I looked around. Where's Jinyoung? 

So I sat down beside the maknaes. Prayed before we ate and started grabbing food. Mom gave me hot choco. I feel uncomfortable without Jinyoung. Where is he anyways? I couldn't help but ask them.

"Eomma... Jinyoungie eodi?" I asked. The maknaes giggled but they ignored me completely when I looked at them.

"Ah. He got up early. Don't worry he already ate. He went out with Baro." Aunt Jinhee said. I was so surprised. With... Baro? What if they fought? I really want to run to where they are right now.

"B-BARO?!" I yelled. Uncle calmed me down. 

"Don't worry! He won't hurt him. Just got him for some help." Uncle said. 

"Help? For what?" I asked. I mean, he could've asked me right?

"Don't know." They replied. So I continued eating.

[JINYOUNG'S POV]

I went to see Baro. Like I told him, I need his help because I'll be buying... A wedding ring for Najung.

"Baro-yah..." I said while driving.

"Yes?" He replied. I took a deep breath.

"You know why I went to see you right?" I asked. He nodded and looked down.

"I'm sorry..." I said. It was the most sincere sorry that I have ever said.

"For what? For making Najung your girlfriend? Now she's gonna be your wife? Jin-ah... We've been best buddies since 1st grade. And she has been your best buddy since you were born. You deserve to have her. I know I liked... Well, loved her since then. But the way I see it, she's more attached to you. Like, a magnet maybe. And I feel so happy that she found the right guy for her. At least you're not a gambler or anything." He said. I was touched. 

"By the way, you know the size of her finger right? Make sure you'll buy the best ring for her. It must be special." He added. I looked at him and he looks alright.

"You're not... Hurt?" I asked.

"Actually... I am. So much. But what can I do? I don't want to be a bother to the both of you." He said.

I continued driving without saying a word. And after a while, we inally reached the jewelry shop.

"Here we are." I said while parking. He looked amazed. 

We got in and looked around. This is actually where the most expensive jewelries are sold.

"Pick the best one, like the most expensive one!" Baro said. I continued looking around.

[BARO'S POV]

I was actually gonna buy a necklace for Najung from here. I found that necklace and it made me really sad. 

"I should've bought you long ago... But, I'm not that rich to buy you." I said to myself. I can feel tears were about to fall. I looked up and it's gone. 

"BARO-YA!" Jinyoung yelled. I looked back and he's pointing at something. Ah, it's a ring. It's so pretty! 

But I can't stop looking at that necklace. I have my credit cards, but... Should I buy it?

I went back to that corner and asked how much. I drooled when I heard the price. 

"Who is it for, sir?" The lady asked. 

"Why?" I asked.

"If it's for your girlfriend, we actually give discounts." She said. I felt a bit relieved. I looked at Jinyoung ad nhe was busy chatting with the lady, talking about the ring.

"It's for... My girlfriend... She's really special to me. Like, really special." I said. 

So the lady gave me the ring, while I gave out my credit card. I looked at the necklace and without noticing it, Jinyoung was already behind me.

"That's for Najung right?" He said. I was flustered. 

"Yes..." I answered. He then smirked. Then the lady gave back my card and we walked back to the parking.

"Jin-ah... Please give this to Najung. And... Can you tell her to wear this on your wedding?" I asked. 

"Pabo! Of course she'll wear it! I mean, it's from her best-sweet-buddy!" He said.

I didn't know how to respond to that. It's like, should I be happy? Or should I be sad? Because she'll be wearing it on their wedding? That she's not gonna be my wife? 

"Ah... Geurae..." I said. We drove to some restaurant to grab some food. We shared money to pay. 

"Jin-ah... How will you... Propose to her?" I asked while chewing. 

"I still don't know yet. But, would you help me?" He asked. 

[JINYOUNG'S POV]

Is it right for me to ask him that? 

"I still don't know yet. But, would you help me?" I asked. He glared at me and stopped chewing. His mouth is full and his cheeks were like bubbles. He really looks like a hamster.

"Hm. Sure." He said. 

I still don't know how to propose to her. I don't know the timing and everything... What should I do?

Then Baro suddenly put down his chopsticks, making a loud noise on his plate. I was surprised. 

"I know how. Remember that park we went to? When we had... Our late night date? Propose to her at nighttime. It's the best place you know. But, look for a spot where there's only you two. But be sure it'll be under the pretty lights." He said. 

I snaped my fingers and pointed at him.

"JOHA! THAT'S IT!" I said. Then we high-fived. 

[BARO'S POV]

It was my plan that if ever I'll propose to her, it'll be that place... But, what can I do? 

"Ah... I'm full." I said while rubbing my tummy. Jinyoung said the same. 

Then we got back in the car and drove back home.
