The next day I went to work. I know Rae why you working on a Saturday? Because that's what I do.
It's now 4:30 and I was finishing up my notes. I been here since 8am.
I saw Marlen coming by my desk from the corner of my eye. First he went to the printer and got his copies then he came to my desk.
"Thank you again for lunch. I had it today and it was good"
"No problem anytime but can I use your stapler?"
I handed him my stapler
"You almost done?"
"Yup and I can't wait to leave. What about you?"
"Nah I'm 4pm to 12am. So I'm just getting started"
"Oh wow. I thought we worked the same schedule"
"Nah you work like a hour later after me during the week. But we have the same days off"
"That's nice to know"
My phone was unlocked so he picked it up and put his number in it and sent himself a text message.
"Use that number but I'm going to get going before they start looking for me"
I nodded my head as he left.
I finished my notes 10 minutes later and was on my way home.
I got home in 20 minutes and found parking right by the apartment.
I got home and took a shower. I was beat and I wanted to get some rest. I got dressed and got into my bed and my phone went off
Marlen 👌🏾- why you didn't tell me you was out here.
You could of took me with you 🙎🏽♂️
-bruh we all have to pay our dues. But I sowry
Marlen 👌🏾- don't worry I'm going to leave you there one night.
-you do that already since you leave before me some nights.
Marlen 👌🏾-cause I be having to get out of there. That overtime be calling but I don't like picking up.
See Marlen worked at my job but in another aspects. He stayed in and found information for our cases. While I went and put in work and deal with people.
-I wish I could do that.
Marlen 👌🏾- you work tomorrow the same time too?
-unfortunately. But I'm beat so I'll hit you up later ✌🏽
I plugged my phone up and turned the light off in my room and before I knew it I was out like a light. This California king bed was doing wonders for my sleep.
I woke up at 10 to my phone going off.
I look up and Jade just walked into my room.
"Oh she was sleeping" I hear her tell whoever she on the phone with and walk right back out my room.
That was weird. I got up and went to the bathroom and put on my glasses and then checked my phone.
I realized no one was dying so I just went and put my phone back down. I went and made dinner for myself because Jade had left.
