I just got back to my desk from being out dealing with people. I was trying to be out the office and in my bed within two hours. I was on a roll with typing.
I looked over and saw that Zanielle was calling my phone.
"Hey Zani"
"Rae I'm at the hospital with Denve and I can't stay. Please tell me that you can come"
"Zani, I'm her Godmother for a reason. You know I got ya but what's the reason my baby is there now?"
"She was breathing funny she got pneumonia, she can be released in the morning and you can take her home"
"Just text me what hospital because I'm almost done with my notes so you can go home and get some rest before work"
"We are next door in the emergency, I managed to get her as close as possible to you because I knew you would say you can do it"
I hung up with Zanielle. She knows my weakness is Denve. The thing between me and Zanielle is that she didn't like me in the beginning but I become her only friend. She cut her family off once they told her to stop being rude to Roman. She cut Roman off too and now it's just her and Denve. She doesn't like to accept his help so this is where I come in. Whenever my baby sick I got her because she can't take off of work.
I finished my last note and spoke to my supervisor about having off at least until Wednesday which she approved me until Saturday.
I signed out of work and grabbed my belongings. I went next door and found Denve room in the hospital. Zani hugged me and told me that she knew where my car was and left.
I made myself comfortable on the couch and under the clean blanket and FaceTimed Roman but he didn't answer.
Shockingly Marlen hit my line and he ended up coming to visit me while on his break.
"She is beautiful, how come you didn't tell me you had a child"
"She is mine but my Goddaughter"
Marlen made his way over to the couch with me and got under the covers with me
"Oh yea I brought you some food"
"You the best you know that. But I don't want you to get sick"
"I'm good and if I get sick then so will you"
We ended up watching TV until he had to go back to work.
He ended up holding Denve before he left and the nurse walked in and said that they were cute.
I woke up to Denve making noises. I saw that she was up and looking better but she was also playing with her new friend Marlen who was off of work. I went into the bathroom and freshen up.
I came out and spoke to the doctor and signed Denve discharged papers
"I see you like the kid" I said as I laughed
"Denve the new homie. She lit"
"You know you should of went home and be asleep at this time"
"Nah my homie wanted me to come back. You see the way she smiling at me. My youth knows she wanted to see me again"
I laughed at him and checked my phone and saw that neither one of her parents had called me
I got her dressed and packed her bag and put her in her stroller. I stocked up on what was in the hospital room and put it under her stroller. Marlen ended up walking with us and pushing her stroller to the ferry stop for us.
He waited with us until the ferry came and hugged both of us and and we went on the ferry.
I went to my mom house and got Denve cleaned up and put her to sleep. I showered and took a nap because I knew it wouldn't be long before she woke up
