Violet looked at him curiously, "Why? Don't you have better things to do?"
He looked at her strangely and shook his head, "I just bound myself to you and you want to know why?" Violet nodded. "I thought that it would be interesting." he turned away from her and walked to the door of the warehouse, "Come on, I need food. Preferably pizza." Violet shrugged and walked after him. She ran back to grab her bag, and when she left the warehouse she saw Rennan already waiting for her in the driver's seat of her car. Violet felt for her keys but she couldn't find them. She looked up at Rennan and the keys were dangling from his fingertips.
She sighed and clambered into the passenger side of her car, "What do you think you're doing?"
"I'm driving, what does it look like."
"This is my car."
"Yeah. Your point?"
"It's my car."
"So what. I'm driving, it's final. Now put on your seatbelt." She scoffed at his demand but followed it anyways, rolling her eyes. The demon started the car wordlessly and Violet directed him towards a familiar road. They drove for a while, the radio mysteriously flipping from channel to channel. Violet examined Rennan out of the corner of her eye. He didn't really look like a demon, he looked exactly like someone you would see walking down the street. He had curly black hair that was longer on the top than it was on the sides and he was wearing simple jeans and a t-shirt, not some crazy getup like she had heard some demons wore. His green eyes flitted over to meet Violet's as her gaze roved over him. She tore her eyes away from him and looked at the window, cheeks reddening as she heard him chuckle slightly. She watched through the window for a while until they pulled into the parking lot of a pizza place. Violet stumbled out of the car, her knees weak and vision suddenly blurry as she stood up and leaned against the car as Rennan watched her struggle to stand.
"You good there mouse?" he questioned.
Violet nodded, "Never been better." She walked past Rennan and into the restaurant. A bell jingled as Violet walked in and the guy at the counter didn't move.
She sighed as Rennan walked in and the worker glanced up before looking back at his phone, "Welcome to Pizza Palace, how many are in your party?"
"Just two," the demon said, looking around the place, "Damn Leo, you haven't changed this place a bit."
The worker looked up and a grin spread across his face, "Rennan! When did you get back on earth?" They clapped each other on the back and pulled each other into a quick embrace before pulling away and walking over to one of the tables by the front window of the shop.
"Probably thirty minutes ago, I was just summoned." Rennan paused before sitting down, making sure Violet slid into her seat before sliding into his own beside her. Violet slumped in her seat, muscles aching. She absentmindedly stretched her neck out, tilting it from side to side. Rennan watched out of the corner of his eye as she did this, waiting for the effects of the summoning to kick in. Violet stared out the window at the highway as the two demons talked, too tired to listen in on their conversation. She propped her head up on her hand and closed her eyes, she would just close them for a little bit, it wouldn't be that long. Rennan watched as Violet slumped over, head nearly hitting the table before he caught her.
Rennan set her head down on the table gently as Leo starred, "Where the fuck did she come from?"
Rennan sighed, "She's been here the entire time you idiot. She's the one who summoned me."
"Bullshit."
"Not at all, she walked in before me and then sat down right here." Leo stared at Rennan, searching for lies. "Okay, look at her. And I mean really look at her. You'll see why you didn't notice her before."
Leo snorted, "Yeah, sure." He stared at Violet for a moment and grew serious, "That's pretty serious."
"I know, it is what I think it is right?"
"Definitely, do you want any help with that for her?"
"Go for it, if you know anyone." Leo smirked, "Oh trust me, I know just the person."
Rennan looked at him curiously, "Who?"
"Oh you know, just some witch."
Rennan was suspicious now and he narrowed her eyes at Leo, "It's not her is it?"
Leo looked sheepish, "Sorry man, I know you don't like her much but she's the best there is."
Rennan scoffed and leaned back in the seat, "You're just saying that because she's your girlfriend."
Leo glared at him, "You know I'm not." Rennan sighed and didn't respond.
Leo looked over at Violet, "I'll have her track you down soon. I don't know what she'll do either so if she does something strange don't blame me." Rennan nodded and looked over at Violet. They were both silent for a minute before Leo stood up, "I'll send a pizza with you guys for later." Leo walked into the kitchen of the restaurant and Rennan watched him leave before turning back to Violet. He gently lifted her head off of the table and instead leaned her sleeping form against his shoulder. She shifted as she slept and Rennan watched her curiously. Who would curse someone for so long. For her to have memories of being forgotten and ignored from when she was a little kid she had probably had it nearly her entire life. Rennan frowned at the thought, what person could curse a kid like that. Leo returned as Rennan finished that thought and set the box down on the table. Rennan stood up and pulled Violet along with him, easily scooping her into his arms. Leo waved his hand at the box and murmured a quick spell. The pizza box floated off of the table and hovered in the air beside the three.
Leo looked at Violet and Rennan, "That curse is no good, breaking it might even hurt her more than help her."
Rennan looked down sadly at the girl in his arms, "I know." He didn't look up at Leo as he walked out the door and placed the girl in the passenger seat of the car and drove away.
Leo raised his phone to his ear as he watched the car disappear in the distance, "Hey babe, I need a favor."
