Your POVAfter saying bye to Gene, I help out Aphmau and Marisa in the kitchen, baking Christmas cookies and desserts for tomorrow's holiday party. We would've asked Jacob and Aaron for help, but Jacob is absolutely clueless in the kitchen and Aaron is out mailing invites to their Christmas party tomorrow night to everyone on Mystreet.
"But couldn't you just text everyone about it?" I ask Aphmau as she counts the cards before handing them to Aaron.
"She does this every year. Usually Aph goes and delivers the invites herself, but we're really behind on this whole thing," Aaron says as he puts on his gloves and takes the stack of cards from Aphmau. "So while I deliver the cards, that gives Aph time to cook and bake for the party."
So now Marisa and I are helping Aphmau in the kitchen working on various dessert and treats. Marisa and Aphmau are attempting to make peppermint meringues while I'm making Christmas cookies and some brownies. Since Jacob isn't that great in the kitchen, we let him make a Christmas playlist for the party. But even that isn't going so great either.
"Jacob, no. We are not going to play Gucci Gang for the Christmas party." I yell, hearing the music from the living room. It stops and I see Jacob poking his head into the kitchen.
"And why not?" He pouts. I put the bowl of brownie batter into the mixing stand and turn it on.
"Because," I say as I'm measuring and adding cocoa powder to the bowl, "it's a Christmas party, not some club. Choose Christmas music from different groups like, I don't know, Ariana Grande, One Direction?"
"Uuugh how traditional. Fine." Jacob mutters before grumbling back to the living room. I continue working on the cookie dough and brownie batter simultaneously to try and save time.
"So," Marisa speaks up, piping the meringue into swirls, "Where did you go with Gene? Did he confess his love for you?"
I scoff, ignoring the blush coming to my cheeks at the thought of what happened at the park and turn back to the mixing batter to hide it.
"As if he does," I murmur more to myself than the others.
"What do you mean 'as if' (Y/N)? Literally all the guys are whipped for you!" Marisa cooes.
"Yup, they're as whipped as this meringue batter." Aphmau pipes in.
"But the real question is, who are you whipped for? Oh my Irene, this would be such a good TV show, like The Bachelorette!!" Marisa and Aphmau squeals at the idea. I just end up having a coughing fit.
"Guys, guys, calm yourselves. You know that boys are the last thing on my mind right now." I say, trying to defend myself.
"But you're the first thing on theirs," Aphmau smirked.
I ended up in another coughing fit, causing Marisa and Aphmau to laugh at me as I try to calm myself down with some water.
"You guys... are.. ridiculous," I manage to spit out as I try to tame my coughing.
"Well are we wrong?" Marisa teases. I glare at her, making her laugh some more.
We finish up the last batch of cookies and meringues before setting them off to cool before decorating. Marisa, Aphmau and I went to the living room where Jacob was bundled up in a blanket with his headphones connected to Aph's laptop, probably still creating the playlist.
"Are you almost done? Can we check it out?" Marisa asks Jacob, trying to peak at what he's doing. Jacob just swiftly shuts the laptop before she could.
"No, I want you guys to hear it when we play it at the party tomorrow." He states moving to the lone chair so none of us can disturb him.
Marisa just huffs and sits in Jacob's old spot, while Aph and I sit on either side of her. While waiting, we talked and messed around since Aaron hasn't came back from delivering the invitations.
But the conversation we had in the kitchen lingered in my mind. Do the guys actually have something for me? Do I have something for one of them?
I kept thinking it over and over in my brain. No, maybe they're just teasing me. Maybe I'm making it obvious that there's something else I have for them.
Dingdong!
"Who could that be? It's almost ten at night," Marisa says as she looks at the clock on the wall.
"It might be Aaron. I probably forgot about him and locked the door," Aphmau says, standing up and adjusting her sweater, "Could you get that, (Y/N)? Marisa and I will check on the cookies."
I nodded and made my way to the door and opened it. I was about to smile and greet Aaron but it dropped when I realised who was really at the door.
My eyes widened and quickly slammed the door. I must've slammed it really loud because a few seconds later Jacob Marisa and Aph came to the door with questioning faces. Pointed to the window next to the door, signalling them to look outside.
They all looked, but only Aphmau was confused while Marisa paled and Jacob narrowed his eyes.
"What's he doing here?" He snarled.
