Marisa's POV

"(Y/N)? Can I come in?" I ask softly through the guest room door. (Y/N)'s been isolating herself in the room for the past three days-only to come out to go to work, eat, use the bathroom—but whenever she does come out, she doesn't say anything, either shaking her head or nodding to answer our questions. Jacob and I have been checking on her, and it's worrying us that she just stares at the ceiling or the wall, listening to music on her headphones. I just hope it doesn't have anything to do with—

"Look, I'm fine, okay? So just—" (Y/N) snaps, opening the door and breaking my train of thoughts. I look at her in shock. She would never snap at me or Jacob, just scolds or she uses a stern voice. She looks at me and sighs. She steps aside, letting me in for the first time in three days. I go inside, seeing the bed messed up. I turn around and take a good look at (Y/N).

Her (E/C) eyes are bloodshot with bags underneath each of them. Her usual (S/T) skin is paler and her (H/L) (H/C) hair is in knots and sticking up everywhere. In other words she doesn't look like her usual self. I sit on the unmade bed and look at her expectantly. She sighs and trudges over to the bed. She plops herself next to me and looks at me with her tired eyes.

"Listen, (Y/N). I'm not sure what's been going on to make you like this, but I know that it must have something to do with what happened when you were left hanging out with Garroth." She gives no sign of emotion and keeps looking at me. "I'm sorry. It's my fault that you're like this. I shouldn't have left you guys alone. I honestly thought guys liked each other, but I guess not. Jacob and I were just trying to help. We're so, so, sorry, (Y/N)."

She looks at me with the same blank look. "What do you mean it's your fault? Of course it's not. It's just..." she trails off, looking down to the ground. I tilt my head to the side, something I always do to show that I'm ready to listen. Luckily, (Y/N) noticed and looks up at me. But instead of telling me, she just smiled faintly at me. I give her a confused look. She only shakes her head and flops backwards into the bed.

"Nice talk, Marisa. See you at dinner." She says, plugging in her headphones and turning to her side, facing away from me. I sigh and get up. That was the most I got out of her in the past three days. It'll have to do for now. Before leaving the room, I turn back to her.

"Just remember, Jacob and I—well, mostly me—are always ready to listen."

Your POV

I stare at the wall again after Marisa leaves the room, her words in my mind. I really do want to tell her, but I'm not sure if she'll deal with it well. I honestly don't know why I'm moping like this because of that one thought myself. But, as cliché as this sounds, I want to love and to be loved. However, after Cameron and everything else going on, I don't think I should risk it. I can't risk it, no matter what.

I sigh and force myself to get out of bed. I haven't been outside for so long-not including going out to work-that I thought maybe I could take Celestia to the park and meet Aluino there with Soleado. I grab my phone, where there are twenty missed calls and thirty-two new messages. Most of them are from the guys, but a few were from Aluino. I tap on his contact.

Al: hey, (Y/N). I heard that u weren't feeling well

Al: and not like the flu kind of sick, but emotionally. Marisa told me u were locking urself up in ur room

Al: is everything okay? I haven't heard about u for the past three days

Al: (Y/N), please answer. I'm worried about u
