Classic Three Strand Braid
1) Separate hair into three sections.
2) From left to right, number sections 1, 2 and 3.
3) Cross 1 over 2. 1 should now be where 2 was.
4) Go back and rename the strands 1, 2 and 3, from l to r.
5) Now cross 3 over 2.
6) Go back again, and rename, from l to r, 1, 2 and 3.
7) Repeat steps 3-6 over and over again.
8) Finish and tie off.
Inverse Three Strand Braid
1) Separate hair into three sections.
2) From left to right, number sections 1, 2 and 3.
3) Cross 1 UNDER 2.
4) Go back and rename, from left to right, 1, 2 and 3.
5) Cross 3 UNDER 2.
6) Go back again and rename, l to r, 1, 2 and 3.
7) Repeat steps 3-6 over and over. Remember to go under with them, not over.
8) Finish and tie off.
Uneven Braid (One Strand)
1) Separate hair into three parts, making one mush smaller than the others.
2) Do a three strand braid, Classic or Inverted, it doesn’t really matter.
3) Finish and tie off.
4) (Two Strand) Do the exact same thing, only when you separate your hair, make two of the strands really small, rather then one. Continue with steps 2 and 3.
Figure 8 Braid
1) Separate hair into 2 equal pieces.
2) Section off a small piece from one of the sections. (You can also use ribbon)
3) Use this to go wrap over the right section.
4) Wrap under then over the left section.
5) Go back and wrap over then under the right section.
6) Repeat and finish. Tie off.
Cobra Braid
1) Section hair into three pieces. Make sure that the middle section is larger then the side sections.
2) Fold the left strand over the middle section so that it makes a loop.
3) Lay the right strand over the left.
4) Keeping it over the left strand, wrap it under the middle and pull it through the loop. Tighten.
5) Now fold the right side over and make a loop.
6) Lay the left over the right, wrap it around the middle and pull it through the loop. Tighten.
7) Repeat, finish and tie off.
Zig-Zag Braid
1) Make a Three Strand Braid. (Classic of Inverted, it doesn’t really matter)
2) When you finish the end of the braid, grab the middle strand and push the outside strands up.
3) Tie off.
French Braid
1) Separate hair into three strands.
2) Name them, from right to left, 1, 2 and 3.
3) Fold 1 over 2, then 3 over 1.
4) Go back and rename them, r to l, 1, 2 and 3.
5) Add hair to 1, then fold over 2.
6) Add hair to 3 and fold over 1.
7) Repeat steps 3-6, finish and tie off.
Dutch Braid
1) Separate hair into three strands.
2) Name them, right to left, 1, 2 and 3.
3) Fold 1 under 2, then 3 under 1.
4) Rename, r to l, 1, 2 and 3.
5) Add hair to 1 and fold under 2.
6) Add hair to 3 and fold under 1.
7) Repeat steps 3-6, finish and tie off.
French Lace Braid
1) Start a normal French Braid.
2) When you start to add hair, only add hair to one side.
3) Finish and tie off.
Dutch Lace Braid
1) Start a normal Dutch Braid.
2) When you add hair, only add to one side.
3) Finish and tie off.
Waterfall Braid
1) Take hair and split it into three sections.
2) Start a normal Three Strand Braid. Fold each side strand over the middle strand once.
3) Drop the lowest strand. That’s right. Drop it.
4) Now, pick up and new strand and braid it in, using it as the new bottom strand.
5) Continue to drop and pick up new bottom strands, dropping every time you replace the picked up strand with a braid strand.
6) Finish and tie off.
