I woke up in a lit up room. I was laying on the concrete floor with a woman laying nearby. The room itself was about a few feet wide and long. A single bright lightbulb hung above us. It was our light. It was my only way of keeping sane from this day forward.

"Are we all awake?!" I heard a female voice echo in the room. I quickly looked around to see no doors and a single flat screen television on the wall. The tv had static on it. "Either way, it's time to start." The voice said through the tv.

I turned back to the woman. She had on a white dress with black flats on. Long brown hair covered her face. I quickly looked down to see my attire was a bit different. I had a blue shirt, jeans, and sneakers on.

"Welcome to the game! Everyone here this season is here because someone has recommended them for it. These people are all given partners that must help them pass their challenges. You win your challenge, and you get a point. You lose, and you get tortured for the rest of the night." The voice said. As she finished speaking, the static changed to an image of a girl and guy standing in a circular arena.

The guy was wearing a loose white t-shirt with shorts and sneakers. He had short black hair and even glasses on. The girl was wearing yoga pants, running shoes, and a tank top. She had long blonde hair. I couldn't make out their faces at all.

"Our first challenge involve two martial artists. The first is Alex, a martial arts master that has given up after losing his first tournament. He works as a cashier for that one corner store that no one knows about. He was recommended by one of his friends for this game, so give him a round of applause." She said just before the applause came through the tv.

The applause was loud enough to make me go deaf. It lasted for a few seconds before dying down. I quickly turned back to the woman to see her sitting up. She moved her hair away from her face, revealing a surprisingly cute face behind her brown hair. She looked at me with blue eyes and a slight hint of pink on her cheeks.

"You ok?" I asked as the voice started introducing the woman in the arena. All I'll tell you is that her name is Alexa and she is a yoga teacher that also knows martial arts.

I had eye contact with the woman in the room with me. Her light green eyes stared into mine. I just couldn't help but blush slightly. "Ya." She eventually said as she pulled her gaze away from mine.

Before I was able to say anything else, the applause rang throughout the room. I covered my ears, trying to keep my hearing. However, she just stood up and walked towards the blaring tv. She wasn't covering her ears or anything.

When the applause died down, I took my hands away from my ears. I kept watching her. Her eyes never left the tv screen. "This is one of my favorite shows, but why is this playing?" She said. I could tell that her voice was a bit on the higher side, but it matched her beauty.

"What's your name?" I asked her. She didn't turn around. She didn't even answer me. She just accepted the fact that we're in here without any way to escape.

Before I could ask another question, it began. "Now, onto today's event! Today, both Alexa and Alex will be putting their martial arts to the test. They will go against two of our four armed machines. They can win by pushing or throwing the robot opponents out of bounds. Don't worry, the robots aren't that powerful. The only advantage they have is knowledge and two more limps. To help our contestants, we will be having the robots balance on one wheel. Now IT'S SHOWTIME!" The voice said through the tv.

I slowly walked up to the screen and began to watch. The woman sat down with her legs crossed. She was engrossed by the tv.

The arena was elevated a few feet above the ground. The robots that they were fighting had four arms and a single wheel coming out a rectangular box that rolled onto the arena. At least they were about the same height as Alexa.
