Sam stood in the dark garage, a ball of light glowing softly in his hand as he looked around for the string that Elton said he had, thoughts of the brunet slightly taking over his mind, causing him to have trouble remembering what he wanted to get.

Looking on the shelves, the blond finally found what he was looking for. It was simply a thing of string, but to Sam, it held a million possibilities, and he couldn't help but to grin happily, the new roommate slowly slipping to the back of his mind.

Making his way out of the garage, Sam extinguished his light and walked up the stairs, finding his room with ease and walking inside, still grinning and showing his stupidly white teeth.

Sam immediately started creating small balls of light, attaching them to the string and smiling at the beauty.

Quickly, Sam strung the handmade fairy lights up, giggling to himself for almost no reason. The only reason he could think of was that he finally felt free. He wasn't just another household item that no one cared about. He wasn't there to make others happy. He was free to do what he wanted. He could decorate his room however he liked, and he didn't belong to anyone.

Sam made even smaller spheres of light that looked like stars in the dark and stuck them to the ceiling, some getting in his hair as he laughed even harder, feeling weightless and elated.

Soon enough, his laughter died back down to soft giggles, and a knock sounded, echoing through the lighted room.

Assuming it was Elton, Sam walked over, still grinning widely and opened the door to see the brunet from earlier.

All of a sudden Sam started shaking, fearing the worst as very few people accepted those with powers, many believing that they are freaks that deserve to be tested on. He tried to shut the door, but the brunet stopped him.

"P-Please d-don't hurt m-me!" Sam cried, cowering next to his bed, and the next thing he knew, he had been encased within two strong arms.

Sam's eyes widened as he tried to escape, but the arms just held on tighter until finally Sam gave up and hugged the boy back, closing his eyes as he took deep breaths.
