Jim was training today after school. It was only halfway through the school day, but it seems like he's been here for ages. Mainly because Steve keeps asking questions about the trolls. "Do the trolls have their own special holidays?" "Are there different types of trolls?" "How do you even fight the evil trolls?" "How did Strickler become a chin...cha...changing? Did I pronounce that right?" He was filled with all kinds of questions. Jim was annoyed by it. It took everything in him not to snap. "Steve how about you come with me to my training today, and you can ask these question to trolls."
"Really? Yes. I can't wait."After school, Jim and Steve headed to the cave the trolls moved in to. After Gummar took over and destroyed Troll Market, they had to move somewhere. Jim moved them all to this cave that was hidden in the middle of Arcadia. The trolls are making it home now. Blinky and AAARRRGGHH! were waiting on Jim by the big open space they called the training area. Jim got his amulet out, "For the glory of Merlin, Daylight is mine to command." He rose in the air as his armor magically appeared on him. Steve looked amazed, his mouth was hanging open.
Jim grabbed his sword, and started fighting the thin air. Then Gummar appeared. "Ahhhhhh!" Jim screamed. He started swinging at Gummar, and dodging Gummar's attempts to kill him. Gummar vanished, and Jim stopped fighting, and fell to the ground. "Master Jim are you okay?" Blinky asked running up to him.
"Yeah I'm fine." Jim said using his sword to help him get up, and help him stand.
"You look pale, and you seem very tired."
"Blinky I'm fine. Relax."
"Whatever you say, Master Jim." Blinky walked away, and AAARRRGGHH! Followed him. Jim made the armor get off him and was now holding the amulet in his hands. Jim started swaying, too weak to stand. Steve, unexpectedly, ran over and caught him.
"Whoa. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah. Just get me out of this cave. It's getting hot in here." Jim said. Steve got him out of the cave, and Jim approved almost immediately with just one breath of air. "Can you find your way home?" Jim asked Steve.
"Yeah. Why?"
"I've got to go do something."
"Okay?"Jim went to the place he found the amulet, and got out a horngazel. He opened a entrance into Troll Market. He went down the crystal steps, and stopped just before entering Troll Market. He breathed in heavily, and continued walking. He hadn't been here since Gummar attacked. He looked around, and there were troll remains everywhere. He went to Vendel's place. Vendel's remains were still there. Jim walked over to them, and started crying. "This is all my fault. If I hadn't went into the Darklands none of this would have happened. I'm so sorry Vendel. I'm sorry." He was sobbing uncontrollably now. He fell to his knees, and screamed in anger and pain. He felt himself go numb. He got up trying to calm down, but he couldn't. He leaned against the wall. "I'm not a hero. All I do is cause destruction and death." He said to himself. He got so angry that he started punching the rock wall. He stopped when he couldn't feel his hands anymore. He looked down, and his hands had blood all over.
He left Troll Market, and went to Strickler's house. He didn't want to go home because he didn't want his mom to see his hands. Strickler opened the door and saw Jim's hands. "Oh my goodness. What did you do?"
"I got hurt while training." Jim lied.
