I was cold.As if buried under snow.
As if warmth existed no longer more.
I was in pain.
Ready to be slain.
But then he came.
Saving me, Once again.
And here are we,
On the way, to be set free.
From the past miseries.
From now on,
Vowing to live happily.
"Francine?"
I looked up to see Clary standing in the doorway of my room.
Dawn had begun and the sky was filled with streams of orange and pink. Jonathan and Jace were probably still asleep, since the place was eerily silent than usual. I felt rather poetic this morning, which was why I was scribbling away my life story on a piece of paper with a pencil stub, already having showered and changed into a maroon tank top with a white hoodie on top and denim pants, leaving my feet bare and hair in a ponytail.
I was still not ready to talk to her, not after the way she abandoned me back in Idris, when I really needed her help.
"Go away. Bother Jace, but leave me alone." I muttered, going back to my writing.
"C'mon Francine. Don't be like that, aren't we friends?"
In a flash, I was in front of her. My nails had morphed into claws and canines grew out, ripping the flesh of my lower lip as I snarled at her, beads of blood dribbling down my chin, her scent driving me into a blood thirst.
I had transformed.
For the first time since my escape.
This showed how much I loathed her presence alone, that it sent me into a rage.I grabbed the front of her night gown, and pulled her so close that an inch further and I would be ripping her delicate but fierce face off with my sharp teeth.
"Betrayal is what you show, Clarissa Fairchild, not friendship. That disappeared the day you abandoned me in the hands of the Clave." I growled, pushing her away, making her stumble.
"17 years of endless suffering. The day I met you and your boyfriend, I thought finally I could be free. Forget my past and live a present. You just left. All of you left. Just because I was bound to your oh-so psychotic brother. Only Magnus stayed. He stayed. Rest of you left. I dreamed of the day when I would escape from that god forsaken cell, just to return and cut all you shadowhunters down. Make you suffer like I did. Like your brother did. And leave you to rot in hell. What a glorious day that would be." I let out a maniacal laugh, causing her to flinch away.
"You think you're all some great heroes. But guess what, to me, you're all selfish brats who just care about saving the ones they love and themselves. Nobody else matters."
"Aren't you the same, then?" she questioned. "You only care about Sebastian and yourself."
"I only care for Jonathan." I corrected her, calming down from my rage, changing back to normal. "I would have joined to save the world, but the world turned me into an outcast when I needed them. Therefore, I will help burn it down. After all, what's the use of living in a world not meant for you."
