chapter 9: stuck

Corbyn was unbothered to dress up nicely for this 'date' with Megan. Actually, this was the opposite of a date. He wanted to erase Megan from his life forever.

"Good luck, bro." Daniel says, patting Corbyn on his shoulder.

"Thanks." Corbyn nods. "I've been wanting to do this for months already."

Daniel smiles. "Tell me how it goes."

With that, Corbyn makes his way to Delifrance. For the first time, he wasn't nervous or scared to go out with Megan. He was angry for what she did to Christina. He didn't think about the contract or the consequences.

He spotted Megan sitting outside of the cafe wearing a revealing top which showed her boobs, some denim booty shorts with fishnet leggings. He hated this look on her.

"Baby!" She wails as soon as she spots Corbyn.

He rolls his eyes. "Save it. We need to have a serious talk." He stops her and she instantly steps back.

"Um okay, about?" She asks as Corbyn takes the seat in front of hers. She knew exactly what Corbyn was talking about - Christina, but she continued to play dumb anyway.

"I'm breaking up with you." He drops the bombshell.

"WHAT?!" She exclaims. She expected him to bring up the incident or accuse her of if but not a break up. "Why? I mean...what did I ever do?" She sniffles.

"You know what you did." He replies, firmly. He had had enough of Megan's acting.

"Babe, what happened? Why so sudden? We were perfect together." She cries. "I loved you so much. Why are you doing this to me?" She wipes her crocodile tears away from her cheeks.

"Shut up. You were the one who did that to Christina."

"Christina, who? I don't know anyone named Christina. Babe, please stop. I have no idea what you're saying." She shakes her head, acting confused.

"You're the reason she quit everything!" Corbyn raises his voice. "You broke her!"

Suddenly, a grin appears on Megan's face and she slowly lifts her head up. "Yeah, I did. I did that to the girl who put her filthy hands all over my boyfriend!" She shouts. "Good that she's finally gone." Megan cackles, sending shivers down Corbyn's spine. He knew Megan was mean, but not this mean.

"I want you to apologise to Christina. I don't care how, I've had enough of your nonsense!" He shouts at her.

She smiles and rolls her eyes. "Baby, you can't break up with me." She scoffs. "It's in the contract and you know what happens when you break the contract." She smirks. "Break up with me and I'll hurt Christina. You know what I can do, Corbyn Besson." Megan threatens Corbyn who is at loss for words.

"Pl-please don't...I um..." He stutters in between.

Megan laughs. "Hmm, that's what I thought." She smiles, standing up. "See you later...boyfriend." She winks, walking away.

Once she's out of sight, Corbyn slams the table. "Fuck!" He shouts, every drop of blood boiling in him.
