*On Farm*
Carl's POV
I was standing on the porch of Hershel's house resting on the railing. Bullet wound on my stomach still hurt a little But I've tried to ignore it.
My mum has told me to stay inside but there I could only lay in bed, especially when both dad and Shane weren't there, and it was extremely boring so I decided to go out for a little. I enjoyed warm wind and quiet atmosphere of farm. It seemed so calm. Almost as apocalypse never started and I was on some vacations.
From my thoughts snapped me someone walking through the field in the distance. In the person I recognized Y/N. She and her mother were already here, living here with Hershel's family when we arrived. For what I know she was taking care of me when I was in coma. Besides that I didn't really knew her. Just that she was quite shy but she tried everything to make friends with me. But I've never let her in. I must admit, I was a little too cold to her at times but on my mind still was Sofia. I didn't want to get new friends just for them to disappear like she did.
I leaned slightly on the rails curiously looking where is she going and to my surprise I realized Y/N was heading towards the barn, where Hershel was keeping walkers. I frowned examining her silhouette. In her hands she was holding tightly some box.
I tilted my head still looking at her even more suspicious. Dad said that no one should go there, not me nor she.
Even from the distance she looked very excited and nervous. Like she was doing something very important and dangerous. I narrowed my eyes trying to somehow deduce what was it and why she was going into the barn.
Girl looked around as if she was checking if no one was following her. She probably wouldn't notice me anyway but I backed away slightly, just to make sure. When she turned to the barn and started to walk again, Curiosity took over me and I followed her. She walked to the back of barn and pulled the loosen plank away, then slipping into the building.
I follwed right after her. Ive tried to be as quiet as possible, also keeping my distance. I didn't want her to know that I've followed her all this time. Y/N came up the stairs to the safe platform and sat on the edge of it. I crouched on the stairs and watched her not wanting to show myself yet.
"Hey, guys!" She called and as soon as she did walkers noticed her and slowly walked towards the platform. They started to reach for her with their rotten hands groaning loudly. She just smiled and took something from box she had with herself. She then threw it in the direction of these monsters. One of them caught it and immediately ate. She chuckled.
"I knew you'll like it! Dad you want one too?" she asked and threw another of what I supposed was mice.
I Looked at I wi narrowed eyes, in shock. I shook my head with disbelief. Why was she treating these monsters like that? It was unbelievable! We should kill walkers not feed them!
I needed to use all my force not to show I'm here and confront her about it, but I knew that staying and listening was the best idea at the moment. Girl still not realizing I'm here just continue to talk.
"This week wasn't as interesting as the last one. This new group is still here, and they even more messed up that I thought" Y/N was talking enthusiastically as her legs were dangling of the edge "Maggie say that I shouldn't get involved and that its adult stuff. To pass time I tried to get friend with this boy, Carl I told you about him earlier but he seem to don't like me. Such a pity. I would like to have a real friend!" she sighed and shrugged as on her face appeared a sad expression.
For a longer moment she was just looking at the walkers growling underneath her and stand up "I would be really happy if you tell me about your day" after even longer moment of silence, interrupted only by moans of those monsters, I've heard quiet so from her. She wiped off tear from her chick and whispered "Maybe someday. But for now I need to go"
