Adaline's P.O.V*

"She rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn't you love to love her?
She rules her life like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you've never seen a woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised to you heaven?
Will you ever win?"

I moaned as I awoke to the sound of someone singing. I sat up rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "Morning sleeping beauty" Sally got up and skipped from her place by my window over to my bed.

"Please explain to me why you're always in my room, can't you go bother someone else for a change?" I groaned. Hurt flashes through her eyes, she took a step back and laughed "I could but where's the fun in that?" She questioned as she lit up a cigarette.

I got up and walked right past her into the bathroom and shut the door. I brushed my teeth and put my hair up in a bun before walking back out into my room. " You look cute with your hair up" Sally smirked and walked over to my suitcase. She pulled out a floral print dress and threw it at me. "Put that on, it will really make your eyes pop" she took another puff of her cigarette and blew it in my direction before heading out the door.

I sighed in relief, it's nice to be alone. I don't know why I continue to let her come in and out of my room as she please. For some reason it doesn't bother me as much as I make it seem.

I put on the dress and grabbed my purse on my way out the door. I was glad that I didn't run into anyone on my way to the elevator. I walked towards the front of the hotel and stopped. I took a look around and noticed just how dead the hotel really was. I didn't even see the woman at the front desk.

Shrugging it off I walked out and got a cab. "Where to miss?" the cab driver asked. "Anywhere with decent breakfast food please" I flashed him a smile. I leaned back with a sigh as he started to drive.

He dropped me off at a small bagel place. I got out and started to walk up to the store, "you want me to just wait here miss?" The man called from inside the car.  "That would be great actually, I'll be quick I promise" I said with a laugh. "Don't worry, take your time." I waved before going in and heading straight to the line.

*time skip*
"Thanks again" I said to the cab driver as he brought me back to the hotel. "Anytime" he smirked and drove off. I turned and walked to the front door.

Once the doors open I was shocked with what I saw. People everywhere, it looks like they were setting up for some kind of event. I walked up to the front desk to ask iris what was going on, before I even reached the desk I was approached by a man.

"Hello sweetheart, the models are already in the back you're running a little late. Come with me and I'll get you set up" he said quickly as he grabbed my arm and tried to pull me along.

I pulled my arm back and looked at him with confusion all over my face. " I have no idea what you're talking about, I think you have me confused with somebody else" I said as I looked around the room. Everything was decorated so elegantly. By the looks of the way they're setting everything up I'd say it's going to be some kind of fashion show.

The man looked at me with a confused smile. "Aren't you modeling the event?" He questioned quickly. "No I'm staying at the hotel" I replied slowly. A look of realization hit his face and he took a step back. "I'm so sorry I just figured.... never mind it's irrelevant now" he looked me up and down before speaking again.

"I'm Will Drake by the way, the new owner of this hotel" he smiled and shook my hand. "I wasn't aware the hotel was under new ownership, but I'm Adaline." I pulled my hand out of his and placed it back down at my sides.

"So what exactly is going on here" I asked. He smirked before grabbing my hand and walking back towards the front desk. " I'm holding a fashion show here tonight and you my dear are invited". He let go of my hand and walked to a table near the front desk.

"what's your last name honey?" He grabbed a pen and wrote my first name on a piece of paper, then looked up at me. "Darling" I said with a smile.

He wrote it down then stood up"well Adaline Darling, you are now on the guest list for tonight's event". He walked up so he was standing right in front of me and placed a kiss on my cheek. "I hope to see you there" he smiled. With that he walked away into a crowd of people.
