Prologue

Growing up I've always dreamt of the wonders of the world, the curiosities that still remain undiscovered. Little did I know I was living in an entire world of mysteries and enigmas, and that fairy tales aren't too far from reality in this realm.

Some things I've come to realize growing up is that there's all sorts of different characters living around us. There's the perceived monsters, and the actual monsters. "Different, not bad" was a common phrase in my family, so I was always very accepting of the differences in these individuals, to a fault.  It is fair to mention that not all species act as they are expected to. They contain emotions and thought processes, the same as humans. Just think of them as humans, with different powers and needs than others. Some humans are responsible and compassionate beings, others can't help themselves and do whatever they want, and some are just cruel, hateful and sadistic. There's no telling how a person is, from the outside. There's no easy way of distinguishing the good from the bad, so it's only fair to expect the best from everyone. Not all species are bad, it's only the 'monsters' that make them infamous. You cannot expect all demons and vampires to be horrible and hateful, or pure evil, blood-thirsty killers, like they're commonly interpreted as. Some are like that, some aren't. You should never judge a book by it's cover, you could easily be mistaken. That being said, you shouldn't trust everyone you meet so easily either. You could end up being horribly mistaken.

Here are the most common species and their descriptions.

Demons:

Personality type: infamous for their aggression, and hot-headed nature.  

Appearance: no distinguishable trait besides the irises of their eyes will turn a crimson color when enraged. 

Powers: Powers vary, like witches or Ginn, Some demons could not possess any magical powers but still be extremely lethal. Demons are just natural born killers. Speed, Strength, heightened senses. 

Food: Demons mostly feed off blood, but a common trigger is adrenaline, a hormone the body produces when the creature feels fear or is stressed. They can live off animals but some target humans, as some sort of game (Humans are capable of more obvious emotions than animals). Demon encounters are where the mythical vampire stories originated.  Though demons don't have sharp fangs, like vampires, to help them take down their prey, they use their extreme strength, and bone-crushing bite to tear open the flesh and extract their food. (Or some sadistic demons will just shove their fist straight through a humans' chest)

Witches:

Personality types: Witches are usually relatively compassionate and loving creatures. They usually like to be the life of the party and like to have fun. Witches most of the time stay close to family or other witches. Sometimes witches will even stay close to a lot of other species, as they don't like to be alone. 

Powers: Witches powers, like most other species, vary. Some can have teleportation, others can control earth's elements, and others can even control telepathy. The strength of their powers depends on different factors, including self control, and genes. Witches usually have to be taught how to use their powers, but some are just naturally born with the strength to control their powers. Considering Demons are rather strong creatures, that automatically require quite a bit of self control, if a demon and a witch have a child, the child could grow to be very powerful.

Witches mostly consume human food, though, since their powers require more energy usage, they need to consume twice the amount of a human, to be able to survive. 

Witches blood is irresistible to Demons.

Ginn:

Personality types: Ginn are very elusive and 'reclusive' types of people. They don't find much comfort around other people, as they're infamous for being un-trustworthy and sketchy people, so they try to stay away from judgement. They're very insecure and kind creatures, some can come off as happy-go-lucky, others seem to be in a more depressive state. Most Ginn are very cunning but careful.
