Minji POV:

When I awoke, I was alone again, in the dark empty room. My stomach gurgled in protest, reminding me of my negligence. I was too exhausted for dinner last night, so I fell asleep instead. I slowly rose from the bed, grabbing sweats from one of the bags on the floor. I went for a quick shower before sliding on the comfy pants and a t shirt. Glancing at the Blue clock on the wall, I groaned as it read 4:21a.m.

Then I sauntered out of the room, down the stairs and toward the kitchen. It was large with white and grey linoleum covering the floor. The walls were a light grey-blue color, the cabinets and counter-top matched the hardwood flooring that covered most of the house. There was a large island in the center with 4 black bar stools. I tiptoed over and began searching the cabinets, finally I decided on some bland, off-brand cereal.

I scoured the cupboards for a bowl to use, along with the silverware. Once acquired, I sat at the bar to enjoy my flavorless meal. It was enough to subside my hunger until breakfast, I finished eating and continued staring into the empty bowl. I thought about the man at the mall, Jay, I thought about all the trouble I've caused. Then I thought about my mother, and Sunji, and how disappointed they would be in me for being so lazy and anti-productive. I sighed heavily before shoving away from the bar, I quickly washed the dishes used and headed back to my room.

The stair railing was cold and smooth, it felt nice against my hot skin. The creaky stairs proved to be more of an obstacle than I had anticipated, taking extra time to move quietly. As I got to the second floor and headed toward my bed, something stopped me in my tracks. Whispering? No, it was like someone was quietly calling out to me. I turned my head toward the sound, moonlight flowed down the hall, reaching out toward me. The glass door at the end of the hall once again beckoning me closer.

I tiptoed down the short hall, avoiding loose and creaky boards the best as I could. I stared longingly at the Ebony door, somewhat hoping it would swing open once again, but I was also hopeful in not waking anyone. Once past the doors, I quickened my pace, finally reaching the golden handles of the door.

I slowly, quietly, tugged the doors open, cringing at the light squeak it made. My excitement overtook me as I jumped through the doors, quickly closing them behind me, but leaving on ajar to make an easier escape. I realized I was on a balcony, the same Oak flooring as the rest of the house. The railing was stained darker than the floor, the only thing between me and a 30 ft drop. I shuddered at the thought, continuing my exploration.

Lining the deck were black metallic benches with small brown cushions, facing outward to the view. Slim side tables at either end, empty flower pots were also scattered neatly.

I stared out at the vast scenery. The forest was still pitch black but the sky had begun to turn dark Navy, birds sung in the distance. I sighed deeply, lost in thought once again. A heavy breath behind me startled me, I jumped out of my skin as my head swung to the source.

Jongin stood, hand to his bare chest, glowering at me. I steadied myself and caught my breath, waiting for him to speak.

"You scared me half to death." He accused, no longer choosing to look at me. I scoffed.

"Me?! You popped up out of nowhere!" I shot back, body still a bit shakey.

"You weren't in your room! I looked all over, I was about to wake the others to look for you in the woods. You're lucky I noticed the balcony door was open." He scolded me, arms folded across his chest. I raised an eyebrow at him suspiciously, pointing a finger toward his chest.

"You were in my room.?" I calmly questioned, slightly amused. Jongin's face flushed as he stuttered, looking down at his bare feet.

"That part isn't important!" He finally got out defensively. "I was just trying to check on you. You didn't eat last night and I know you were pretty upset with me. When I saw you were gone I thought you might've run off." He grumbled, pouting at the floor. I giggled at his silliness, earning another glare from my over-protector.

"Come on, give me a bit more credit than that. Don't you think I would've at least left a note?" I joked, poking his arm as he continued pouting.

I turned back to the scenery, dawn was quickly approaching the horizon. A cold wind blew through me, chilling me through the light T shirt. I tried to stifle the shivers but Jongin noticed too quickly. I felt his body directly behind me, leaning forward so his arms rested on the railing, blocking me from the breeze.

I was beginning to get addicted to his presence, his warmth was so comforting. I slowly leaned into his chest, finally beginning to relax. I felt his torso stiffen but he quickly shook off the surprise, tightening his hold around me, and resting his head on my shoulder. He then pulled me backward until we sat on the bench, sitting me on his lap in the process.

We sat like that for a while, until the sun finally began to rise. I felt so safe and comfortable I almost began to doze off, until I heard his voice. He began humming, and quietly singing in my ear in his deep caramel voice.

(Amnesia by Kai chorus[Eng translation])

"Forget who I was before I knew you.

Erase everything that isn't you

My two eyes only see you

Can't remember anything before ya"

" 너를 알기 전의 나는 잊어
네가 아닌 모든 지워
눈엔 오직 너만 보여
Can't remember anything before ya "

I'm not sure when it happened but I ended up falling asleep in his arms, to his beautiful lullaby.
