Detention: An Arnold x Helga Story (Hey Arnold!)

Revelation!

Arnold's POV: 

She runs out the room crying. Where is she going? What the hell! I don't think we can just run out of the room. But there are more important matters at hand right now Arnold! As in, why is she crying, and also why did she run away when I tried to comfort her! I'm beyond confused at this point, I mean sure crying was weird since nothing happened, but then she ran away! Did something happen that I missed? Or did something happen at home? Why was Helga crying and why did she run away? 

Is she gonna come back? 

Well, if she ran away then she might not, but she still has detention! Oh, she might ditch it, I mean she apparently has before, but she'll get expelled! Even is she's mean, everyone deserves an education! She is super sad, but that doesn't mean she should run away and risk her education! I should go find her and see what's going on. I start heading for the door but then I remember that I have no idea where she is or might have gone. The best thing to do at this moment would be to stay in the classroom and hope that she comes back. 

I go to sit back down in my chair but I see that she was reading Romeo & Juliet. Hey, wasn't I Romeo in that play back in 4th grade. Who was Juliet again? Oh right it was Helga! I was so shocked when I found out that she was going to be playing Juliet in the play, especially since everyone knew that I was going to be Romeo.  That was a weird year for Helga, I mean she kissed me during that play. And she was nice to me when our families went to the same beach during  Spring break. Hell, she even helped Gerald and I save the neighborhood even though her dad was partially the cause for it being in danger. Why did she do that? 

Holy shit, how could I have ever forgotten, she confessed, she confessed her love for me.

That day on the rooftop when I confronted the mysterious person who had been helping us she took off her mask. I had asked her why and she rambled about how she loved me since forever and then kissed me! HOW DID I FORGET THAT!!! HOW IN THE FUCKING HELL DID I FORGET THAT WHAT THE FUCK.

Oh, but after Gerald, Helga and I revealed the evil boss behind the almost destruction and that our neighborhood was a historical landmark, she told me that she just confessed and kissed me because of the heat of the moment. But that makes no sense at fucking all. Now that my head is all cleared up and out the craziness of my feelings at the time it's obvious that that was a flimsy cover-up so she could pretend like all that never happened.

And if she loves me, then that means...

She cares about what I think of her, and yesterday I got back at her for bullying me. Which might've been a cover up for how she felt. It really worked though, she's a great actress. That must've been why she ditched English yesterday. Because she didn't want to see me. And now I've gone and glared at her the next second she looks at me, wow. I sure seem like the meanest person ever from her point of view. (Yeah no shit Sherlock) I wonder how she's gonna act when she comes back. She'll probably have some excuse readied to brush off the display of emotion from earlier.
