Toni
Perfect package deal
"Boys, come down here" Dad called down, I could here his voice despite him calling from the ground floor. He had quite a loud voice with mannerisms that made him seem like he was always slightly tipsy most of the time, but then again the fact he constantly held a wine glass in his left hand resembled that too.
I hear my brother's door open first and file behind him down the grand staircase, scurrying. Dad's demands were practically formal orders, like those drill sergeants bossing around his soldiers.
We sauntered into my father's office, where he was sat on his throne, at his desk. We occupied the two leather chairs opposite him.
"What is it dad?" Kenn asked him, just as curious as I was.
"We have a special guest coming up to the Highlands, a few specials guests but there's one particular that is quite important.." he began, me and Kenn look at each other in unison, with the same bewildered expressions.
"Who?" I inquired, my dad lays a magazine on the wooden surface of his desk, displaying a feminine and voluptuous figure. I was instinctively captivated by the golden blonde locks, flawless skin and quite unique features that radiated an alluring vibe.
"Do you know who that is?" Dad pointed.
"Alexandra Rose Beaumont, this year's top billionaire bachelorette" Kenn answered immediately, like the goody-goody he was. He was more engaged and interested into that business and company malarkey that my dad worked for, than I was. So that meant he found every opportunity to study anything associated to the business that he would inherit - seeing as he was the eldest between us, so he was the first and foremost heir towards dad's fortune.
"Guess what? She's on the hunt for suitors" my dad smirked.
"How is that relevant?" I furrowed my eyebrows with such confusion. My dad sighed with disappointment.
"Alexa is the perfect package deal. She's got the looks, the money and just about everything else. She inherits not only her father's money but her grandfather's too, let me tell you, that is a heck load of money, properties and companies...worth" my dad explained. I glanced back at the magazine, trying to match the cover-girl display to the verbal description. "Don't even get me started on status because the Beaumont's are practically modern royalty"
"It just so happens, I have two sons, who are potential suitors" My Dad hinted. "The Beaumont's want Alexa married as soon as possible, married to a wealthy and prosperous family..like us"
"So I'm guessing you want us to woo her" Kenn added.
"Bulls eye! You got it my boy!" My Dad exclaims, overjoyed.
"Let me put it this way, boys, I want Alexa to bear my grandchildren" he summarised. "She's the only girl that I think is worthy for any of my sons"
Dad had specific standards when it came to the subject of girls, they couldn't be just any commoner on the street, nope. They had to have status, it was mandatory.
"Louis Beauregard failed to woo her and last I heard, you boys are the next suitable suitors on her list" Of course, my father did his research from his sources.
There was a knock at the door, it was my mother.
"The Beaumont's have arrived at the gate, they'll be here shortly" She informed my dad. Our house was located on a private estate in the Hamptons, somewhere isolated called the highlands. It was that private, that the location couldn't be found on any map. There was a lot of plain lands surrounding our house, hills and hills that my dad adapted for his passion for golf. It would take at least ten minutes for the limousine to reach the house since the gate was miles away. We were in the middle of nowhere hence why my father referred to it as the highlands."Boys, get ready for the party tonight" My mother addressed me and Kenn.
"Party? What party?" I never really knew what was going on around here.
"Oh come on, we don't want to be rude. We must host a welcome party to our very important guest" My Dad answered. "Wear your fancy suits!"
"All our suits are fancy" Kenn replied.
"Well pick one that will attract Alexandra" My dad shouted, dismissing us from his office.
Moments after...
You couldn't miss the doorbell. It was an ear-shrieking sound that echoed through the whole house, it always made me shudder whenever it rang. I'd everlastingly convinced my parents to change the tone and volume of the doorbell but it had always been declined.
"She's here" My Dad jolted out of his office, prancing restlessly like there was no tomorrow. The servants had practically laid out a red carpet on the tiled marble floors of the entrance, as if she was some sort of royalty.
I'd trotted down the staircase, fastening my bow tie and patiently anticipating to see what the big deal was, what made this specific girl so special.
"Don't embarrass yourself" Kenn whispered in my ear before brushing past me, like the arrogant and moody person he was. My brother hadn't always been such a.. how do I describe it.. a dickhead or an ass. He just gradually became so orientated into our family fortune and business that he forgot how to live a little, I remember when we used to play video games and we had some brotherly play fights. Now, it seems as if he was ready to slice my throat at any second.
My mother and father stood boldly before the double doors, you know what they say first impressions last. I could see through the windows, a limousine parked by the fountain, which indicated the arrival of the guests.
The double doors opened.
