Toni
Green with envy isn't a good colour on you
Knock. Knock.
"What!" I shouted with temper.
"Sir, your mother calls you for lunch on the patio. Dress appropriately" the Butler interrupts my slumber once again for one of my mother's announcements. I groaned and bury my head back in the pillow.
Knock. Knock.
"Sir, your mother told me to tell you that missing breakfast was already your first warning of today, don't let there be a second" the Butler spoke again, irritating me even more.
"Fine!" I returned, shooing him away, he was like a human alarm clock or one of those heralds.
Wait, I missed breakfast? I glanced at my clock. 11:34. Perhaps my nocturnal habits have affected my time of awakening, which has now triggered my mother. I pry myself away from the warm sheets and duvet on my bed, reluctantly dashing into the shower.
It was Sunday. Sunday's were a Fitzpatrick tradition to play golf except when weather conditions interfered. That meant that I had to dress appropriately for that event, which would ideally be a blazer with a particular edge of certain trousers (I wasn't a fan of the sweater vest option) so I opted for a better alternative - perhaps, a smart long sleeved polo shirt would do.
......."Nice of you to finally join us" My dad spots me from the corner of his eye and instantly greets me. Everyone had already sat down, there was an empty seat at the opposite end of the table, opposite my dad. Of course, Kenn had found himself a position as close to Alexa as he possibly could.
There was a collection of finger sandwiches, a teapot, fat free green yogurt and blueberries, granola, more fresh fruit as well as some biscuits on the table. It resembled something you'd have in one of the Queen's tearooms in Buckingham palace.
"Pleasure is all mine" I cheekily replied.
"Better late than never" my mother laughed.
"At least, you can join us for the last courses of the game" My dad added. "So, Alexa, how are you liking your stay?"
"It's certainly one fine place" She returned. "C'est très magnifique"
"That's always good to hear" he smiled.
"Oh did you hear, Alexa, you've been chosen to be one of the specially chosen five girls to be in this year's charity auction at the Let Them Eat Caviar Charity Gala Ball" My mom informs Alexa.
"So I've heard" she nodded.
"Yeah, I saw that on today's edition of Prestigious People's magazine" Claudia adds. "Rumour has it, you'll be bringing in the most cash this year"
