((Hey wattpaders! I am going to post two chapters a day and sometimes more!))
"Sir, they're attacking again!"
"Vidia, you know what I have to do."
"You can't! They will kill you. They've already defeated our army in Viridesa. We don't stand a chance!"
"It's our only hope." I held onto Iris' long green robe, his white hair neatly hanging down his back. His pointed ears holding it away from his face.
"Promise me you'll come back." A tear ran down my cheek. Iris smiled.
"I promise." He gave me a kiss on my cheek and headed outside. He grabbed his bow and an arrow off his back.
I never saw Iris again.

"Your majesty, we have restored peace with the Nyx for years. Why do you want to attack now?"
"You know they won't stop. Iris' death was only a turning point in the war. Peace won't last. We mustn't let his death be in vain."
"Of course. Queen Vidia, the elf kingdom would like to know our next action."
"The elves will find out soon enough. I am taking my army towards the Nyx kingdom. We shall declare war there."
"Majesty, what if you are hurt?"
"The war mustn't stop until I'm dead."
"Yes, Queen Vidia. However I have but one question. When will you start moving your armies?"
"Tomorrow at sunrise. However, I would like you to stay to watch over the elf kingdom."
"Are you sure, majesty? Who will protect you?"
"I can protect myself."
"Of course, majesty." Elian bowed and I returned it. He exited the room.
Many people misunderstand elves. They aren't short and they don't live in mushrooms. They actually live in beautiful green paradises not marked on maps. They are as tall or taller than humans and they live in beautiful gold houses. They are humans but with white hair and pointy ears. But soon, it won't be so beautiful.
Vidia walked over to her guard who was standing next to the armory room. He bowed and let her pass. Everyone in the palace knew that Vidia was sad because of Iris' death. However, no matter how hard anyone tried, no one could get through to her.
Vidia walked over to her Oberon, a seven foot horse that is owned by everyone in the elf army.
"Sh girl. It's me, Vidia." She stroked the horse's mane that was perfectly braided down her neck. "Tomorrow is a big day. We get to travel."
The Oberon was pure white and had diamond armor made of the finest cut diamonds there is. Vidia brushed the horse's fur until she knew it was time to prepare her speech for the elf kingdom.
She knew that she had to tell the elf people of her plans. However, she regretted it because it would only make the elves worry.
She hated the idea of guns and the elves only owned bows and arrows. However, when hiding in the mountains, arrows make a perfect silent attack. So her army was made up of the finest bow shooters in the elf kingdom.
Vidia entered her office and straightened her green and gold dress. She pressed a button that sent a message to all elves in the kingdom.
"People of Elvena, the time has come to restore order through the kingdom. When Iris died, I've kept myself bottled up all these years. But now, I've decided to move my armies towards the Nyx kingdom. The plan is to travel tomorrow, declare war and attack the next day. Iris' death shall not be in vain. Long live emperor Iris." She gave a slight bow and ended the message.
A knock came at her door.
"Come in." She said and the giant, fancy engraved door swung open.
"Queen Vidia, the armies have heard the plan. They are ready to take action at sunrise."
"Thank you." She replied.
"Shea would like to see you."
Vidia groaned. Shea always disliked Vidia because she was married to Iris. Shea always loved Iris and she blamed his death on Vidia.
"Let her in."
Elian walked towards the door and gently opened it. He, too, knew that Shea could sometimes be a monster.
Shea bursted through the door.
"Why would you attack? We have signed peace with the Nyx kingdom!" She yelled.
"Shea, you have been complaining about the armies doing nothing. Now is your chance to finally fight." Vidia calmly said. Shea was the leader of Army Alfedine. We have three armies total.
"But what if we are destroyed like years ago?" Shea argued.
"I've been looking into the Nyx kingdom and received that half of their army quit because of trauma. They are equal to or less than us."
"If you are wrong like before, I swear I will kill you myself."
"Elian." Vidia said and made a gesture towards Shea. Shea knew what it meant. She was being escorted out of her office... again.
"You'll hear from me again!" She threatened and Elian walked her out the door and closed it. He triple checked the locks.
"I'm sorry, majesty. She can get a little... out of it sometimes." Elian said.
"Thank you. But I fear she is right."
"What do you mean?" Elian asked confused.
"Shea said that she would kill me. I fear it would be sooner than expected."
"Like on your trip to Nyx kingdom?"
"Yes. Maybe."
"Perhaps I should come with you, majesty. If you are worried about Shea's threat, you need someone to protect you, no matter how many times you deny it."
"You're right. You should come with me. I suppose Susanna can watch over the kingdom."
"Of course, majesty. However, if I want to go with you, I must begin to prepare my Oberon."
"Of course. You are dismissed."
Elian bowed and left the room.
