Chapter 5

  We go to the doctor's room and Leah explains everything to him. He quickly decides to get Leah and the Baby checked, So we go into the sonogram room.

"Alright Leah, I'm gonna need you to lift your shirt." The doctor says putting on gloves, He looks at the screen and shakes his head,

"What's wrong?" Leah asks,

"We NEED to get the baby out, I know you're only 30 weeks pregnant, but the baby isn't safe in the womb."  I see Leah get tears in her eyes, I go over and hug her,

"Why?" I ask

"The umbilical cord is ripping, and if we don't get him out, he won't have a way to get nourished." Leah gets up and we go to another room, where she changes into a hospital gown.

"Alright, well let's head to the surgery room, your gonna get a c-section." They start walking away,

"Can Kenzie come?" Leah asks,

"Yeah, let's go get you changed." The doctor says, I go and put those protection clothes on.

We enter the surgery room, I stand next to Leah,

"Everything is gonna be okay, I hope." I say to Leah,

"Thank you Kenzie, for being here with me."

"Anything for my beautiful sister in law." I say

"You're the closest person I have to Michael, I really wish he was here." She says with tears dripping down her face,

"We all wish he was here." I wipe her tears away. I see the doctor cutting her stomach, I look at Leah,

"Do you feel pain?"

"A little, but its not that bad." She says, I see them pull out the baby, he doesn't make a sound. The doctor and nurses all look at each other.

The doctor waves me over,

"I'll be back okay?" I tell Leah, She nods, When I walk over to the doctor, he looks down,

"Its too late." I feel my heart drop, and tears forming in my eyes, I look over at the nurses cleaning the baby, he looks so still.

"Do you want to tell Her?" He asks, I nod, I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but I have to tell her. It breaks my heart, I know how happy Her and Michael were, Oh Michael, My brother, he has no clue on what's going on. Before I go over to Leah, I talk to the doctor,

"Hey, can you do me a huge favor?" I ask,

"Yes, what is it?"

"So my brother, the baby's dad, he's in the army right now, could you please call him?"

"Yes, I'll go do that right now." He says walking away.

I feel so nervous walking over to Leah, before I get to her, I wipe my eyes, staying strong for others is the hardest thing ever.

When I finally get to her, she looks at me with such a sad face,

"Le-" She stops me,

"I know, He didn't make it." She starts crying, I bend down and hug her, we cry together.

"I'm so sorry, Leah."

"For what? Its My fault, I should have spoken up earlier."

"No, No, no, Leah, Its nobody's fault, things just happen. He's an angel now. He's in a better place." She cries even harder, I look at a nurse coming towards us with the baby, I stop her, she nods and goes away.

When they finish stitching up Leah,they take her to a room.

*20 Minutes later*

Leah fell asleep like 5 minutes ago, she kept blaming herself, they brought in the baby, I'm not sure why, I think they said that she gets time to spend with him.

I hear someone coming in, I turn and see the doctor,

"I called, your brother is on his way, he should be here in about 2 or 3 hours."

"Thank you so much."

"No problem, do you know what they were gonna name the baby?"

"No." He nods And leaves, I feel my phone vibrate, a text from Taylor,

"Everything okay?"

"No, The baby didn't make it."

"Aww, how's Leah?"

"She's asleep, but she kept blaming herself. did you tell everyone?"

"Yeah, Kenny, Mahogany, Matt, and I will be there in a few, Nash and Cameron took Aliyaah so she wouldn't go to the hospital."

"Okay, so you guys in a few then." I look up and see Leah looking at the baby. I get up from the couch and head towards her,

"You want me to give him to you?" She looks at me, I'm not gonna lie, she looks like she wants to kill me.

"Leah?" She keeps looking at me with an evil stare.

"Can we get a nurse in here!!" I say, quickly a nurse comes in,

"She keeps looking at me like shes mad." I say

"Its okay, its something that happens a lot, don't worry." She goes over to Leah and gives her a shot,

"Why'd you do that?" I asked,

"She needs to calm down, usually when this happens, the mother is still in shock, and because she fell asleep, she probably had a dream that someone, in this case, you, killed the baby. But don't worry, the shot helps her get back to normal."

"How long is she gonna be asleep?"

"About an hour or so." The nurse says, she starts to walk away but stops,

"The baby can only be here until 9 in the morning tomorrow. So If anyone wants to come see the baby they only have until tomorrow."

"Where is he gonna be taken?"

"To the funeral home, if I were you, I would get everything ready, its hard for a mom to fix her newborn's funeral." I nod,

"Thank you." I text Taylor to bring me my laptop.

Soon, Taylor, Kenny, Matt, and Mahogany get here,

"Hey." I say

"Hey," They all say getting a seat in the couch,

"Heres your laptop." Taylor says,

"Thank you,"

"What did you want it for?" Kenny asks

"To get the funeral planned."

"That's so sweet of you." Mahogany says hugging me,

"Thanks, Leah woke up a while ago, but she kept mugging me, the nurse says its because she probably had a dream that I killed the baby since she's still in shock, so they had to give her a shot."

"Were you scared?" Matt asks,

"Yes! I thought she was gonna get up and choke me." I start searching up everything, after about 30 minutes, I get everything done. The funeral is on Tuesday, the church is before the funeral, the casket is of course white, since he is a baby, and everyone who got invited, has to wear white. When the baby is buried, everyone is gonna have blue and white balloons, they can write whatever the want, and at 11:11am we are gonna release them into the air.

Yeah, its in the morning.
