i quietly sit next to andy on the kitchen counter as he sobs into his hands. his mother-caitlin-in shock and his sister heartbroken. caitlin stares between me, andy and lauren as her mouth separates slightly.

"are you guys alright?" she finally speaks and andy just sobs harder. "no, no we're not" lauren whispers as she looks down at her feet.

"what happened? did anyone get hurt?" caitlin's concerned voice fills the small, modern kitchen as she slowly wipes their tears out of her eyes.

i look back at andy and see that his crying has stopped and that his eyes were closed. crying is exhausting, it takes so much energy from your body.

i pull andy closer to me, rubbing his arm. i scratch my thigh very hard, probably leaving a red mark. it's a nervous habit i have, when i'm stressed, angry, sad or nervous, i scratch my thigh until it burns.

"was there no sign? there wasn't, like, a feeling or something?" caitlin rambles, crossing her arms and attaching them to her chest. "is andy going to jail?" my voice cracks as i look at caitlin wih tears forming in my eyes. "no, no, no, reed doesn't put people into jail because they're mutants, he puts them into jail because they hurt someone." she explains, that didn't answer my question though.

"like me?" andy's voice quietly speaks causing a sharp pang to happen in my chest.

"face it mom, andy's a mutant. that's his mutant powers first come to a person. it's in a situation of stress or anger. dad talks about, like, all the time." lauren says looking up at her mother.

"lauren, yes, your father talks about his work but the doesn't mean you're an ex-" caitlin's bamabling came to a stop. "how do you think we got out of that gym?" lauren sighs, "i got us out." she jumps on the counter, slouching. "we got us out." i speak up, my voice still shaky. "you too?" caitlin's voice fills with disbelief as she starts to sob.

a knock on the door brings everyone's attention to the door as caitlin wipes her tears and walks to the door. a deep voice mumbles from the door sending chills down my spine, "you can't just take my children! they are are my children!" caitlin yells and all of us rush to the front room.

"willow, andy, lauren, we're here to help you." the balding white male says trying to step in. "that's bullshit!" i yell, tightening my hands. "leave our mom alone!" andy yells and the house starts shaking slightly.

i look down at my hands and look back up to see the two men terrified that i would burn them. i lift my hands up, shooting the ground by the white mans foot, making him to jump back. "leave us alone!" andy yells again before the whole house starts shaking and things start to fall.

before the men could do anything, lauren put up a shield, blocking them by the door. "run! run! run!" she yells. i grab andy's hand before running to the garage, caitlin and lauren behind us.

i hop in the unlocked car and quickly look behind us. no one, no sound. lauren and caitlin quickly sit in the front seat, starting the car and opening the garage door. i look behind us and see men of sentinel services and trucks where men with guns run out.

they shoot quickly, hitting the glass making me and andy duck down. i sit back up and look at lauren. "the car!" caitlin yells, but before i could do anything, lauren put her hand up and i'm guessing she pushed it out of the way.

we start to drive away from the chaos in the strucker house and sit in silence. i un-click my seat belt and stretch out my body, putting my head on andy's lap.

"are you okay?" he asks, his voice almost inaudible. "i should be the one asking you that," i look up at him to see a serious face "yeah i'm okay." i sigh, rubbing andy's thigh slightly.

andy and i have a weird relationship. sometimes we act like siblings, other times best friends, and other times like we've been together for 3 years. now, me and andy getting together would never happen. i'm not as pretty as the other girls. andy would probably go for anyone else except me.

andy's legs were on my sides and my head was on his crotch area-i know, weird right?-my hand still on his thigh, i stop rubbing. "andy," i look up at him again; my blue eyes meeting his hazel ones. "yeah willow?" he smiles slightly, rubbing my head. "no matter what, just know, that you're my best friend and that no matter how many obsticales come in our way; if it's either boys or girls, that i will always be your best friend." i finish smiling, tears forming in my eyes.

"willow, i could never loose you. after as much bullshit we've been through together, i wouldn't change you for anyone." he smiles, wiping the small tear coming from my eye. i close my eyes as he leans down and kisses my forehead; his soft, pink lips hitting my caramel skin.

"where are we going?" lauren's voice booms through the quiet car. "we're going to," caitlin pauses " get your father." i lay there in the car frozen as everything sinks in; i'm a mutant, my best friend is a mutant, my best friends sister is a mutant, we're on the run from sentinel services, and my mother doesn't know where i am.

i start to sob, sitting up and facing andy. "i'm never going to see my mom again!" i yell through my sobs. my mom was the only family i had left; my aunts and uncles never see me, they never had children, grandparents are dead, and my father was kill in war.

"willow it's okay, we're going to find her okay?" andy said but i didn't believe him. "how do you know?!" i yell once more, my eye vision blurry. "name a time i've lied to you." he says and i just sob harder, rushing into andy's chest. i wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his torso. i sob into his shoulder as he shushes me to sleep.

sooner or later, i fell asleep.
