Growing Up

(First Chapter taking place in 2018/Present Day)

Ryan's POV

Zara's been acting different lately. All she's been doing lately, other than school is sitting in her room and listening to music. She hasn't been hanging out with Sam or anyone lately. She doesn't seem sick or anything. But, something is just off.

I went into her room

(This is What it looks like BTW)

She was on her bed listening to music

"Zara......Zara" I said trying to get her attention, she didn't notice me.

She was wearing wireless headphones and her phone was in her charger. I took her phone and played "Sweatshirt' by Jacob Sartorious. I know she hates the song, mostly because the other day Brendon had to stop her from punching Jonathan after her pranked her and played it when she wasn't looking. Zara clearly didn't like my way of getting her attention.

"What the hell dad. You could've just paused my music, instead of changing it to Jacob Stegosaurus" she said, her face red.

"Well I've been trying to get your attention" I said

She paused for a minute

"Smart, revengeful, but not funny" she said

"Look Zara, have you been ok lately. I mean all you've been doing is-" was all I could say before Zara groaned

"What?" I asked

"Daddy's asked me this like 50 billion times, yes I'm fine." she said

"Are you sure?" I asked

"Yes" she said

"Ok" I said

"I love you" I said kissing the top of her head, then walking out of her room

I decided to ask Gerard maybe Sam was going through the same thing

"Babe, I'm heading out" I said, calling Brendon

"Ok" he said

I walked outside, wow being outside alone without 4 kids is real fucking quiet. It's not that I don't love them, because I do. But, it can be really loud.

*At Gerard's house*

"Sam hasn't been dealing with any of that....not as of now at least" Gerard said

"Well what could it be. It's kind of worrying me" I said

"Have you thought about the fact that Zara is 13 and her body is raging of hormones" I heard someone say, it was Sam

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Well she is probably just going through puberty." Sam said

"Wow.....why didn't I think of that" I said

"Sorry I interrupted your day Gee, just to realize my girl is growing up" I said

"Nothing to worry about." he said

*at home*

I walked in and Crystal ran up to me

(Crystal) (She's the girl.....The boy in the back is Anthony, a friend of mine...Crystal is played by Anthony's sister)

"Hi Dada" she said putting her hands up, wanting to be held, I picked her up

"Hi Crystal, I love you" I said, kissing her cheek

She giggled as I went to where Brendon was with Nick

"Dada" Nick called out, once he noticed me

"Hey Nicky" I said

"Hey babe" Brendon said, kissing me

"Ewww...kissing gross" both Crystal and Nick said

"Guess we gotta do it more often" I said teasing the two

"Nooooo" they said

"Hey Peanut, Squirt, and the two other children who are supposed to be my dads" I heard Zara say, she was standing in the doorway.

"Hey....we aren't that childish" Brendon said

"Yes you are" she said

Zara walked over to me, and leaned into my side. I picked her up (having put down Crystal minutes ago)

She wrapped her legs around my waist, and her arms around neck.

*Later that night* 

Nick and Crystal were sleeping. Jonathan and Zara were downstairs watching a movie. Brendon and I were getting ready for bed.

"So, I probably know what has been going on with Zara, thanks to Sam" I said to Brendon

"What?" he asked

"One word: Puberty" I said

"Wow.....why didn't we think that?" he asked

"That's what I said....I guess we just forgot that our baby girl is gonna grow up" I said

"Yeah...wait does that mean the other 2 are gonna grow up?" Brendon asked

"Sadly yes" I said

"Well....all 4 of them will be our little ones forever, whether they like it or not" Brendon said
