Reaching the first floor, I noticed Jimin sitting on the sofa with his head slowly nodding, indicating that he was slowly dozing off.
A devious grin creeping onto my face, I quietly tiptoed over to the back of the sofa.
Cautiously leaning down to his ear, I took a deep breathe and loudly yelled directly into his ear with all my might.
"WHAT THE-" Jimin yelled as he quickly jumped out of his seat, looking at me with his eyes widened and his his right hand on his heart.
I bursted out laughing at his hilarious reaction and the priceless look on his face.
"H-Hyerin?! What was that for?!" He confusedly asked, still trying to process this whole situation.
"Just wanted to wake you up." I responded as I innocently shrugged my shoulders, casually walking around the sofa as I plopped myself down next to him.
"Ahh, I remember how we used to prank each other all time during our high school years." I said, a warm smile appearing on my face as I remembered all the fun I had with him.
"Hyerin." Jimin suddenly said as he called my name, causing me to turn my head to look at him.
"Hm?" I said, only to see a devilish grin forming on his face.
"Do you remember when we shared our first kiss?"
His sudden question caused me to madly blush and my heart to skip a beat.
"W-Why are you bringing that up?" I anxiously asked, knowing he had some kind of evil plan in his mind.
Suddenly, Jimin slowly began to scoot closer to me, causing me to gradually back away from him.
"Oh I don't know, maybe we can do it again?" He said with a rather raspy voice, causing my heart to greatly flutter from his seductive words.
I continued to slowly scoot away from him, but unluckily, my back hit the arm rest of the sofa.
Taking this chance, Jimin placed his left hand on the back pillow of the sofa and his right hand on the edge of the arm rest, instantly trapping me in between his arms.
"I've been dying to do this..." He quietly muttered as he gradually bean to lean in closer to my face, causing me to mentally panic.
In my eyes, he appeared like a hungry predator eagerly aiming for its prey.
"J-Jimin..." I nervously muttered, attempting to back my face away from his as far as I could.
But he continued to come closer to me, his lips just a few inches away from mine.
Although I knew I was greatly betraying Jiyeon, I noticed myself slowly leaning in closer aiming his lips as well.
My heart was on it's peak of exploding, my face a complete blushing mess, and I was just a centimeter away from connecting my lips with his until...
"Got you."
Jimin instantly backed away from me, causing me to look completely dumbfounded.
He suddenly bursted into great laughter, pointing at my face with his index finger as he held his stomach from laughing too hard.
"H-Huh?" I confusedly asked, my cheeks immediately flushing from utter embarrassment.
"Ah, you should've seen your face." He said as he wiped his tears of laughter away, a proud smile plastered on his face.
"Did you really think I was going to kiss you?" Jimin asked, looking at me as if I was some stupid idiot.
I just stayed silent as I stared at him in great disbelief, unable to believe how he played such a ruthless prank on me.
I mean, I pranked him too, but he went too far.
"I wouldn't do something you wouldn't like." Jimin said as he casually laid his back onto the back pillow of the sofa.
"And besides, I would break the promise I made if I kissed you."
I was confused from what he meant by that, but I immediately came to realization.
"I promise I won't touch you or lay a single finger on you, okay?"
Right, he made a promise with me before I agreed to stay the night.
I should be disgusted at the fact that he even pretended to kiss me.
I should've pushed him away with all my might, telling him to stop doing things like that.
But for some reason, a part of me actually wanted to.
My entire face heated up from the shame and bashfulness that was overflowing my heart, and I truly hated myself for even attempting to betray Jiyeon.
"Oh, why're you blushing Hyerin?" Jimin mockingly asked, raising an eyebrow at me as he deviously grinned at me.
"Oops, did I make you fall for me?" He teased, igniting a bit anger inside of me.
Seeing how I just continued to speechlessly glare at him, he let out a scoff.
"Sorry but," He said, leaning in closer to my face as he smugly smiled at me.
"I'm taken baby girl."
That did it.
Jimin and his brutal, heartless words completely set fire onto my heart, burning it up with nothing but fury and resentment.
"I fucking know that you idiot." I fiercely stated as I immediately stood up from the sofa and ran towards the stairs, unable to take his cruel attitude towards me.
"H-Hyerin!" I heard Jimin worriedly shout as I rushed up the stairs, my tears about to burst out at any second.
Reaching the second floor, I attempted to run into a room until...
"Wait!"
I was suddenly stopped in my footsteps by a strong grip on my arm.
"L-Let go of me..." I weakly muttered, unable to look at Jimin with my heartbroken expression and overflowing tears.
I didn't want him to see how hurt I was by his words.
I didn't want him to realize that I had completely fallen for him.
Suddenly, Jimin forcefully pulled me towards him and attacked me with a hug from behind.
"Look, I'm sorry okay?" He sincerely stated, slightly calming me down with his warm embrace.
"I just tend to be mean to you because... I-I'm just so fucking scared." He dejectedly muttered into my ear, his arms embracing me tightening around me.
"I-I'm just so afraid that you'll find out how I really feel."
"W-What do you mean?" I confusedly asked, wondering what he possibly meant by that.
Jimin stayed silent for a while, but eventually let go of me.
I turned around to look at him, only to see his head hanging low with a rather sad, wistful expression visible on his face.
"We should go to sleep. You can sleep in the guest room across from my room." He generously offered, finally looking up and facing me.
But all I saw was a broken, dejected smile covering up his true feelings.
As I attempted to speak up, Jimin hurriedly turned around and took a step forward to walk away from me.
"W-Wait Jimin!" I said, causing him to stop in his footsteps with his back still facing me.
Gathering up the greatest courage I had, I tightly clenched my fists and asked him the question I've been dying to ask.
"D-Do you like Jiyeon?"
His body stiffened from my sudden question, but he slowly turned his head and looked at me, giving me one last forced smile.
"I don't know anymore."
And with that, Jimin walked away.
