Hymn for Praxidike

95 4 1

Praise upon the Lady of Spring, whose eyes bewitch every creature, honey-dripped skinned,

Enveloped with daisy scent yet breath flaming fire, Death's honored queen.

Ruling beside your magnanimous consort, Hades, whose throne sit beneath glorious

Solid Gaia, in the eternal bliss of Erebus.

Eternal mother to all, yet mother to none, epitome of gracious vengeful dove,

Power of the blinding light bestowed upon you, along with the dwelling darkness you love.

Hear my prayer, goddess of Seasons, source of life, send various kinds

Of pleasant fruit for this Earth, so be disappear the starve we mine.

Never leave us stumbling on your Realms, so we may send you adoring song,

End my agony that swept me across the sea, ease the grudge that I hold for long.
