Chapter Three

Diamond Larkey's P.O.V.

"Diamond Larkey here with your first Capitol Update." I say to the crowd, "Earlier this morning, we finished up this year's reaping. For those of you who don't know, I doubt there is anyone who doesn't know already, this year is a Quarter Quell. For this year's Quell, to show the districts how powerful and capable the Capitol can be, any eligible Capitol citizen has the possibility of being reaped. This year should be a dramatic one in the arena!"

The audience isn't as happy as usual, probably because someone they knew got reaped this year, but they are as excited as ever.

"I suppose most of you are dying to know what will be happening for the next few days. Tomorrow is a free day for the tributes, but tomorrow will be training day. They will break for dinner at six, and can continue training if needed. The next day will be another training day, but only until two, when they will have to start getting ready for the interviews,"

I am about to sign off, but a man walks on stage and hands me an envelope.

"Oh, I am so sorry, we almost forgot to announce the names of the tributes," I apologize towards the audience.

"From District One, we have 18 year old Monica Brown, and 18 year old Tabaqui Fae! Two tributes at the age of 18 already!" I yell excitedly

From District Two, we have 17 year old Alexandra Short. Only one tribute from Two, and I have a feeling this may happen a lot. From District Three, we have 15 year old Kylie Cook and 18 year old Gianna Gillie. From District Four, we have Rhiannon Jacobs and Flux Perthshire, both age 17.

From District Five, we have Helena Wilson, age 14, and Nicole Wentzel, age 16. From District Six, we have William Willcot, age 14, William Stream, age 12, and Ben Saunders, age 15.

Now, we are going to take a short break, so don't go anywhere!" I say as the cameras turn off.
