Kelly Stream's P.O.V.
I stand amongst the other 18 year old girls of District 6. So far they've called three tributes, a girl from 2, a boy from 7, and a girl from the Capitol. I can't wait to get this over with. Since I'm 18, this is my last year for the reapings. My younger brother, William, in the twelve year old section. He was so nervous this morning and was crying in his pillow. I felt so bad. I really hope he doesn't get picked.
"William Willcott," says the booming voice of President Maryland. I can't even bring to words how scared I was when they said William; I thought it was my brother. Then the President reaches his hand into the bowl again.
"Kelly Stream," he says. I gasp as my name booms through the Capitol Square. I walk down an aisle towards the stage. I catch a glimpse of my brother, who is about to cry. I almost make it to the stage, when I hear him scream:
"No! No! I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!"
I begin to cry as he runs up on stage and goes to the mic.
"How dramatic! Two volunteers in a row! Tell me boy, what is your name?" asks Maryland.
"My name is William Stream, and I am twelve years old from District 6," he half sobs-half talks into the mic.
"Oh, a relative!" says Maryland and pulls another tribute's name as I drag myself back to the 18 year old section.
President Claudius Maryland's P.O.V.
I reach my hand into the bowl again.
"Tabaqui Fae!" I shout into the microphone as a boy from the District 1 runs onstage.
"I'm 18 years old, and I am from District 1," Dakota shouts, not needing a mic," Watch out for me in the Games!" He walks over to sit with the rest of the tributes.
"To make things easier for everybody, I'm going to pick three tributes at a time!" I say as the crowd cheers. I grab three slips of paper out of the large glass bowl. "Flavius Odina, Imogene Bakers, and Rhiannon Jacobs!"
A Capitol boy with dull yellow hair, a skinny girl with long brown hair, and a dark-skinned boy with short black hair walk on stage.
"I'm Flavius Odina, and I'm from the Capitol and I'm 15 years old," says the yellow-haired boy.
"I'm Imogene Bakers, and I'm from District 10, and I'm 12 years old," says the skinny girl.
"And I'm Rhiannon Jacobs, from District 4, and I'm not only 17 years old, but I'm going to win this year's Games!" says the dark-skinned boy, eager to get in the arena.
"Moving on,"
Flux Perthshire's P.O.V.
"Flux Perthshire, Helena Sanderson, and Gretchen Wilson!" shouts the President.
I walk up on stage, proudly. I am very small for my age, but I will be an underdog.
"I'm Flux Perthshire, and I'm 17 years old from District 4!"
A fourteen year old girl from 5 and a sixteen year old from 10 walk on stage, Helena and Gretchen.
Man, I am so happy right now. I will win this thing. I found an empty seat between Rhiannon and Flavius.
"Hey, wanna make an alliance?" whispers Rhiannon to me and Flavius
"Ok," we reply in unison.
"We'll talk more later," says Rhiannon, and turns away as if nothing happen, so Flavius and I do the
"Tyler Davis, Gianna Gillie, and Hans Coulter!" says the President as a 12 year old from District 11, an 18 year old from District 3, and a 17 year old from District 9 walk on stage.
"Margot Davidson, Kylie Cook, Ben Saunders!"
Two boys and one girl, all age 15, one from 7, one from 3, and one from 6, walk on stage.
"Quiana Angel, Piper Flick, and Angelique Papillon!"
Three girls, all from the Capitol, now walk on stage.
"Three more tributes!" shouts the President.
Leah Miller's P.O.V.
Come on, three more tributes, and I'll be free of worry for the rest of my days. I'm so close now, and so is District 12. No one from my district has been reaped this year. And no one will be.
The president reaches his hand into the bowl one last time.
"Alexandra Short, Nicole Wentzel, and Leah Miller!"
I gasp when I hear my name called, but I walk up anyway.
"My name is Alexandra Short, I am 17 years old, and I am from District 2!"
"My name is Nicole Wentzel, I am 16 years old, and I am from District 5."
"Um...My name is, um, Leah Miller, and I am, um, 18 years old, and I am, um...um, I'm from District 12," I say nervously. After I sit down, I am lead to a train with the rest of the tributes, and then I realize something.
There is only one tribute from District 12 this year, and it is me.
