He lay on his small bed, golden rain poured from the leaves around his home.  He stretched his arms and wings as he yawned. Slowly, he blinked the sleep from his eyes.

He looked out of the window in his door, "perfect" he grumbled.

He swung his leg clumsily onto the floor and groaned, "man, that last guy really nailed me." He massaged and rolled his shoulder.

His computer beeped, and transferred something onto his pocket glass. He let out a long sigh, "who's the lucky fella?" he sat up on his bed and over to pick up the pocket glass, along with his water bottle.

He sipped on the water as he looked it over, looking over a picture, a description, and payment. When his eyes fell upon the payment, he almost choked on the water. He coughed it out and caught his breath.

He gasped for air, "THREE MILLION!" He couldn't believe his luck! He fumbled to press accept, and when he did it downloaded more information.  Common places they went. Their address.  There were tons or pictures to go along with information.

He raised an eyebrow, "woah, this person did their research," he looked up. "I smell fish..." he looked back down at the glass, "well I don't get payed to ask questions."

He lifted his mattress and pulled out black spray. He coated his wings, legs arms and tail with it. The spray dried within seconds. He rolled his shoulders back and put his armor, is covered his arms, legs and chest. He picked up his bike helmet from the coat rack, took out a couple of finger less gloves from it, but them on and then put the helmet on and flipped down the dark visor.

He stuck his pocket glass in his pocket and zipped it up, and then opened the door. He stood on the edge of the door frame, closed the door and let himself fall. Just before hitting the ground he spread his wings and flew up over the canopy.

The sun was just beginning to set, he took out his glass and snapped a photo, "man, I never get used to this view," he sighed.

He pulled up the file on his target, "lessee, that's gotta be right around..." he stopped and looked around, "mmmm, that way."

He set up a GPS and set loaded the rute onto his visor. He flew, taking his time and saving energy. He glided effortlessly over the canopy, following the route to the city where the target supposedly was.

Buildings grew and, it was now night. His glass beeped. He pulled it out of his pocket and looked at it, new information showed up.

There was a tracker on said target, "well that not disturbing at all," the little red dot was moving fast.

He loaded up the new data onto his visor and stuck his glass back into his pocket and zipped it. He followed the route to his target, silently gliding from building to building until the dot was right under him.

He had arrived at an abandoned building, there were a lot in this particular city. Windows were broken and most were missing. He turned off the guidance system and scanned the room. It was open, it must've been an office at some point, years ago.

He took a few steps forward, and turned on the heat scanner on his visor. There was no sign of life, at least not any warm life in the room. He walked out into the hallway and found an elevator shaft. He beat his wings a few times and flew over to the elevator shaft. He slowly flew down it and hung upside down to check the floor below him, there was a sudden large amount of heat. He turned off the heat scanner. Over in the middle of the large room was a small fire, someone was crouched down warming their hands. He quickly dove behind an overturned table, and peeked at them from behind it.

The person near the fire had a blanket over them, they shivered. He flipped up his visor, it was a girl. She looked young, somewhere in the early teens. He hid behind the table again and flipped down his visor. He pulled up the navigation system again and looked over at her, there was a big red dot on her. He ducked behind the table again and pulled out his glass. This must be a mistake, he thought. She looked nothing like the person in the file did.

He checked the glass, there was a message on it, 'Take her out now. Bring back alive.'

He frowned, 'why do you want her so bad?' he replied.

They messaged back, 'Asking questions is not your job. Do what you are being paid to do.'

There was something very wrong here. He took a deep breath and stood up, and faced the kid. She gasped and looked over at him terrified. She stumbled backward, blubbering, and pleading. He slowly walked over to her, she tried to crawl away faster.

He sighed, "can you give me a minute before you go stumbling off the building?" he raised his arms and then let them fall to his sides.

She froze, and looked over at him, "you're not gonna kill me?" she wheezed out. "No, I'm supposed to take you to my client." He put his hand on his hip.

"You see, the problem is, I don't do kidnapping. So mind telling me why you're so special to my client?" he cocked his head to the side.

She slowly stood, trembling, the blanket fell off her shoulder, but she caught it before it hit the ground. Her arm was long and it only had three fingers, he then noticed her other arm was the same. It dawned on him, a new hybrid.

She shrunk into the blanket, "I-" his glass beeped again.

He loaded the message on his visor, 'Do not trust her, she is very dangerous.'

He looked back at her, she seemed frightened almost to the point of pissing herself.

He scoffed, "yeah, right" he breathed out. "Listen, kid. Why're you on the lamb?" she shifted from foot to foot.

He waited for an answer, "c'mon, kid don't leave me hanging." She looked up at him, and stood straight up. She started walking towards him, steadily, but still a tad timidly. As she did, she began to change, skin peeling and falling off. She fell to a lump of skin, bones and tissue right in front of him.

He took a small step backward, "aw man, that's disgusting!" he wiped his feet on the floor, "don't get yourself on me" he protested.

The mound on the floor started to rise and take shape, there was a long tail that emerged from the rising mound. What used to be a girl changed into a woman, with the bottom half of a snake.

He was mesmerized by this change, "am I supposed to be impressed?" he crossed his arms.

She huffed, most people would at least backup and try to get away. She looked where she thought his eyes were, "are you not afraid?" she was beyond confused, and a little disappointed.

He uncrossed his arms, "no, just a little disgusted" she lowered her gaze, "hey, eyes up here."

She looked back up at him, "is this your original form?" he put air quotes on 'original'. She stood up straight, "yes, this is me."

He threw up his arms, "she speaks! So, tell me, why does my client want you back alive? They don't want to answer my question, aaaaaand they say you're very dangerous." He crossed his arms and made gestures with his elbows.

She immediately shook her head, "mmmnno! They have a zoo!" She pointed out of the building. She looked even more terrified than when she first saw him.

He uncrossed his arms, and reached out towards her, she flinched and slid back an inch. He drew back, "hey, it's alright. I won't take you back to them."

She looked at him, he flipped up his visor, "I promise I won't," her face lit up and she hugged him with such force he stumbled backwards before hugging her back.

They separated, "the only reason I was able to find you was via tracker, so I think-" she pointed to the area between her shoulders.

He stepped behind her and ran his thumb over the spot she pointed to. He felt a small lump under her skin, "yeah, that might be a problem. I'm gonna have to cut it out."

She shivered, "go ahead, I don't want to be followed anymore," she spoke barely above a whisper, her voice cold and tired.

He dug into her skin with his claw and pulled out the tracker, he turned on his navigation system, the red dot was now on his hand. He walked over to the nearest window and dropped it, "well, some poor sap's gonna be very confused when people come after 'em," she smiled and slithered toward him.

She looked at the busy street below, "thank you."

He looked at her, "do you have anywhere to go?"

"No," she looked at him, "but I'm sure I'll find somewhere."
