I got out of bed, shivering at the feeling of my feet touching the floor. I groaned from my headache, I didn't sleep last night, at all.

I twisted the door knob open, silently thanking god that it was unlocked. I crept down the hallway and into the kitchen. Once I turned the corner I noticed Aiden sitting at the kitchen table reading a file. I cleared my throat and watched as he closed the file, pushing it aside.

"Good morning" He spoke, running his hands through his hair. He was stressed but didn't wanna show it.

I nodded back at him, opening the cabinet for a glass. I found one and filled it up with tap water. I downed the water, savoring the feeling. I placed the glass in the sink. I made my way over to the table, pulling out a chair.

Aiden looked up at me.

"Aiden...when am I going to go home" I asked, making eye contact.

"Why don't you call me Uncle Aiden?" He questioned.

I cleared my throat. "Why am I even here?" I questioned. Putting my hands on the table in front of me.

He thought about it for a second "I'm trying to protect you." He said, almost unsure.

"From what?" I sighed.

"I've had issues...with Zion's uncle, Kent. Last I heard he was coming for you." He spoke, quickly. "I'm also holding a grudge because you left Florida without telling me, Taylor. Why?" He said, his stare softening.

I shrugged.

He just doesn't get it?

He looked down at his lap, disappointment was prominent in his eyes.

"Did you not realize I was trying to h-" He was cut off by a loud bang by the front door.

I ran to see what was going on. My feet were faster than I mind. I turned the corner and ran right into a hard chest. I stumbled back, regaining my balance.

I felt my arms being gripped and I looked up, doing a double take.

"Zion?" I breathed
