Kevins POV

I went over to my moms house the next day like she instructed.

I knocked on the door. "Its open!" I heard her call. I opened the door and walked in.

"You know, mom, you really shouldn't just leave the door open" I advised.

"Oh don't worry about it." she said coming down the stairs.

"Anyways," I started. "Freya, you left out the part where shes a brat."

"Kevin!" She put her hand against her upper chest and let out a small irritated gasp. "Its very rude of you to say that about her."

"Rude?" I questioned. "If you wanna see rude you should have seen her yesterday"
I shook my head in disgust thinking about her act at the coffee shop.

"Well Im sorry," she apologized giving a little shrug. "you'll have to deal with it , her parents and have already agreed to it years ago."

"You cant change it?" I questioned her.

"Not that I know of, we were very excited about this and I don't see her parents changing their minds" she argued. "just try to get to know her, don't show her she gets to you and I promise she'll lighten up."

"Cant promise Ill be able to tolerate her for more than half an hour, but I can promise Ill try" I said.

She laughed. "Its a start..go take her out today and see what you can make of it" she suggested. "Kill her with kindness."

Freyas POV

"Freya!" I heard my mom call.

"What do you want?!" I called back with a little annoyance.

"Kevins here to take you out!"
I groaned at the thought of seeing him again..

"Ill be down in a sec!" I called back this time with more annoyance in my voice.
I stomped down the stairs in my new blouse and black high waisted jeans.

"Hey" he greeted.
I smacked my tongue to the roof of my mouth making a 'tsk' sound before raising my eyebrows and saying "Hey."

He smiled and held his hand out, I rolled my eyes. "ugh" I muttered.

"Where are we going?" I asked unhappily.
"you could have gave me a heads up before coming over you know, I probably would have made other plans then go out with you."

"Because, I think we got off on the wrong start," I answered. "We should get to know each other if were going to get married."

"Were not getting married." I protested. "thats just what our parents said."

"Whatever floats your boat!" He laughed.
I rolled my eyes again. Why would my mom pair me up with such a child? I asked myself rhetorically.

"You didn't answer me correctly." I snapped. "where are we going?"

"Anywhere you'd like" he suggested.

"Well I-" he interrupted me. "you cant go home by the way" he laughed.

"Ughh" I groaned. "fine. lets go to the
Mall, I need new clothes anyways"
Kevins POV

Killing her with Kindness would be harder than I thought, I can honestly say shes the biggest brat Ive ever met in my entire life, and Ive met a lot of people.

Once we got to the mall she quickly said, "heres the deal ok. stay at least three feet away from me, don't talk to me, and carry all my bags. Got it?"

"Yes ma'am!" I said forcing a smile.
Kill her with kindness, I reminded myself.
She groaned at my 'excitement'.

~

We've only been here for about half an hour and I'm already hauling around about 30 bags of shoes and dresses.

We were heading to the food court to get some lunch, I couldn't wait to sit down.
We walked over to a table and I set her stuff down. "Ill go get us some food okay?" I told her.

"Uh ok" she agreed. "just make sure its not some gross fatty foods."

"Of course" I agreed. "that would be gross"
A few moments later I came back with some subway and made sure hers was nice and neat with no sogginess or anything and a water.

"Im impressed" she nodded.
I smiled, I think its working, I thought.

"So what do you do for a job?" I asked trying to get to know her.

"Nothing." she snapped. "I mean, I don't work." she corrected.

"Oh." I was surprised, you'd think a 20 year old rich girl would have a fancy job, but I guess she just lives off her mother.

"Im guessing you're in the stupid ghost band my mom told me about?" she asked rudely.

"Ghost Town?" I questioned, taking a sip of my drink.

"Yea that," she agreed.

"Uh, yeah and its not stupid by the way its fun and nice to know there are tons of people who love us and our music.." I explained before trailing off realizing she probably could care less.

"Oh, well I looked it up last night" she confessed. "Its horrible, why do you scream? thats not singing you know."

"Its better than what comes on the radio now though" I laughed trying to avoid the insult shed just given me.

She gave a small laugh. "Thats true, Im not going to lie."

So maybe the whole 'killing her with kindness' thing did work, or maybe she was just in a good mood? I don't know but I think shes warming up to me.
