The trees passed in a green blue as I pedaled my way home. My eyes kept scanning my surroundings looking for anything that can indicate that what Max told me last night is true. It is still fairly early in the morning, the air cool against my skin, my long red hair tied back in a braid.  The streets are desolate, only the occasional car passing by. No monsters or psychic girls noticeable. With a sigh, I turned down a side street and continued the trek home, choosing not to worry about the story Max's friend told her.  The truth about everything always comes out eventually, so why stress about  it when I don't have to? I turn onto my street and ride up the road towards my home. Spotting my house, I see two figures standing on the porch talking. Recognizing the flamings locks, I know Max is out there, but who is with her? Riding up the driveway, I put my bike in its usual spot and make my way to the pair.

"Hey guys."

I greet them, their hushed conversation immediately stopping.

"Hey Josie. Lucas, this is my older sister."

Max introduces. I stare at the kid, stunned briefly. So this is the kid that had my sister so worked up last night? Shaking those thoughts out of my head, I smile at him.

"So, is there any particular reason that you are talking quietly on the porch instead of inside?"

I ask them. Max looks worriedly at the door.

"Billy...."

She mutters. Everything clicks in my head.

"Shit."

I murmur under my breath.

"Okay, you guys continue out here, I'll go inside and distract him. Just make it as quick as you can, alright? If the conversation is going to be long, Max, go in first and meet Lucas by your window."

I continue, looking at both of them sternly. Lucas looks at Max and she nods her head towards the back of the house. Lucas hops on his bike and makes his way to their meeting spot. I take a deep breath before opening the door and taking a step inside. I instantly collide with something hard. Glancing up, I find Billy looking at me expectantly. Good timing on my part, they would have been so busted one second later.  I can feel Max's presence behind me as I stare up at Billy.

"Billy."

His name fell breathlessly off my tongue as I stared up at hard features, his blue eyes shifting between my sister and I.

"Who the hell was that?"

He questioned with a glare cold enough to freeze me in my spot.

"Mormons."

I sharply turned my head at my sister's random response, giving her a look of disbelief. Seriously, mormons was the best she could come up with?

"Mormons?"

Billy tilts his head, an unconvinced look on his face.

"Talkative ones."

I responded with a shrug of my shoulders. I nudge Max forward, silently telling her to go. She walks briskly past Billy. I try to follow, but he steps in front of me quickly, blocking my path. I try to step around him, but he follows me every step.

"What's your problem?"

I huff in annoyance at his childish actions.

"You left the house awfully early this morning Josie. Were you seeing Harrington?"

I couldn't help but to roll my eyes at his words. Is he seriously still on about this?
