Forget About You: A Raura Story

Sixteen

(Rydel's POV)

My fingers and toes felt like raisins. I never noticed how long we were in the pool for.

"KIDS, SNACKS ARE IN THE KITCHEN. DRY UP AND GET DRESSED PLEASE." I hear my mom shout.

"YES MA." We all shout back.

I look over at Laura and Vanessa wrapped up in their towels and nod, signalling them to follow me upstairs.

The two sisters went into the guest room and I gave them the heads up that I'd be there in a couple minutes.

I entered my room and took a shower.

After drying my hair a little with my towel, I put on some black pyjama shorts and a pink tank top.

(Laura's POV)

After I finished drying my hair with my towel, I put on some black pyjama shorts and a plain white t-shirt. I then applied some Vanilla scented lotion on my arms and legs.

When I was done and felt oh so refreshed, I sat on the bed next to my sister who was on her phone. She was just wearing a pair of baby blue shorts and a red shirt.

"Wanna let me in on the things that have been going on with you and Riker?" I ask and smirk.

She chuckles, "Well, what do you wanna know?"

"How far in the relationship are you guys in? And what's it like to have a boyfriend?" I ask and criss cross my legs onto the bed.

"First off, we've had to cope with a long distance relationship for two years because of the tour but you already know that. But I honestly love being with him and he makes me happy. Even though we've been away from each other for an amount of time, we were able to manage that and now we're just happy to be able to kick start our relationship much better now that we can be in each other's arms." She says smiling and turning a little red.

"Aww you really love him don't you?" I say.

"More than ever." She says and smile cheekily. I hug her and then we pull away after hearing the door creak open.

"Hey hey hey!" Rydel says walking over to us.

"Yo" Vanessa replies.

"Fill me in on the deep conversation here ladies." Rydel chimed in.

"We were just talking about how totally and madly in love Vanessa is with Riker." I beamed.

Vanessa's cheeks turned into cherries.

"I love love." Rydel adds in and I giggle.

"Why don't we move on to how you almost broke down into tears by the pool earlier watching Ross?" Rydel asks to me.

"There's an easy answer to that: I have a huge crush on that blonde brother of yours, but we have been separated for two years and on the day he comes back he doesn't remember who the hell I am. So tell me how I couldn't break into tears on the spot. Every time I look at him I just keep asking myself questions in my head like, 'Why me?' 'What is the reason behind him forgetting about me and me only?' " I blurt out.

"We get what your going through. And it is going to be my duty to get his memory back." Rydel says and gives me a hug. We pull away and Vanessa speaks up.

"Look little sis, I'm here for you, and I wanna do anything I can to accomplish mission 'Raura'. Just keep on staying strong and be able to find the best solution for every problem that comes in your way. That's how you deal with life and relationships." She says.

"Vanessa's right. You need to fight fight fight. Try to spend more time with him. Make him feel the love you feel towards him. One special moment could set the sparks and who knows, he could snap his memory back and you'll both live happily ever after." Rydel adds in and I chuckle at the 'happily ever after' part.

"Happily ever after only happens in fairytales." I say.

"We're all living in fairytales Laur. It's just that we live in complicated fairytales and all fairytales have problems and major bumps in the road but it all leads to something great in the end." Vanessa says.

I smile. "How did I get so lucky to have two of the most amazing girls in my life?" I say and we group hug.

After a little bit more chit chat with the girls, we all gathered in the living room eating pizza and watching movies.

"Hey uh Laura?" Ross asked.

"Yeah?" I say and avert my eyes from the tv screen to the certain blonde.

"Could you pass me a slice of Hawaiian? Please?"

I reach for the slice he wanted and handed it over to him before continuing to pay my attention to the film.

"Hey Laura?" Ross asks again after a couple minutes.

"Yeah?" I say and throw my head back on the couch and turn towards him.

He stuffed his last piece of pizza crust and grabbed my hand. I flinched in shock.

"Wanna ditch this movie and go to the backyard?" He asked now looking into my eyes. I sat there staring at him, not replying for about a few seconds until he let go of my hand and spoke up.

"Unless you're into this movie then--"

I cut him off by grabbing his hand and dragging him to the backyard.

I led him to the grass and stopped to grab a blanket sitting on a lawn chair. He took it from my hands and laid it out on the grass for us to lie down on. We both sat down next to each other on the blanket and then laid down to watch the stars.

"Laura?"

"Mhm?" I reply without breaking my gaze from the night sky.

"I'm sorry" he says

I turn my head to look at him and our eyes meet, "Sorry? For what? The 'forgetting me' thing stings but it is far from your fault."

"But as you said, you're my bestfriend, and this might sound a bit odd but I can feel it. I can feel something special when you're near me and I've only known you for a few hours. I believe that you're my bestfriend because of that feeling." He confessed.

"Thanks for being so considerate and caring about this. Because of that its hard to tell that you don't remember a thing about me." I say and pull out a smile.

"Hey, do you wanna maybe hangout with me tomorrow? I mean I think it would really help get my memory back." He asks and i nod in agreement.

"That's a great idea." I say and smile widely.

I'm so sorry for taking forever to update! I thought I would be able to update a lot over this summer but apparently not. So many things have been happening and I've lost inspiration but I'm doing what I can to bounce myself back.

Anyways thanks for sticking with me through a looong wait. I do not plan on ending this story anytime soon, I have so many ideas I'm not ready to give up, but pls bare with me when i do not update after days, weeks, even months.
