She walked up to his house, overnight bag in hand. This would be the first time she was staying over at her boyfriend's house. She shuddered as she knocked on the door, the cold air kissing her perfect skin. Moving from one foot to the other patiently, her eyes lit up when he opened the door. They smiled at each other before he let her in and took her bags. They both went upstairs so they could get ready for their night.
She went to the bathroom to get changed and do her make up, making sure to perfect the flick of her eyeliner. She scooped the burgundy dress over her head and let it fall over her curves, zipping up the back before looking at herself triumphantly. She let her hair down, revealing the curls she was hiding in her ponytail. They fell gracefully around her face as she put on the red earrings and necklace that her boyfriend had got her for Christmas. Finally, she put on her black velvet heels that we're delicately decorated with embroidered roses.
She checked herself over once more before emerging from the bathroom. She walked into his bedroom and there he stood.
His back to her as he struggled to do up his sleeve buttons. She struggled to stop the giggles before he succeeded. He picked up his navy blue suit jacket and put it on, the colour bringing out the blue of his eyes. He turned on his heels and stopped suddenly when his eyes fell on his girlfriend.
He gazed at her before she spoke up,
"How do I look?" She shuffled nervously.
"Wonderful (y/n), absolutely gorgeous" he replied. With that he moved closer to her and kissed her forehead. "Hey with those things on you're nearly as tall as me" he giggled. She looked down at her heels, "I emphasise the nearly" he beamed cheekily.
"I may be short but I am powerful" she giggled back as she slapped his shoulder playfully.
"Ooh ow that hurt" he pouted
"Deal with it" she said with a smirk and a wink before walking out of the room, swaying her hips as she went. His eyes followed her constantly and he froze in admiration. "What are you waiting for?" With that he walked to her and offered his arm, she took it as they walked to his car together.
She was nervous and he knew it. This would be the first time she would meet his co-workers and friends. As he drove he rested his hand on her thigh to comfort her.
"You'll do fine, they're nice people (y/n). There's no need to be nervous" she smiled up at him graciously. "They'll love you no doubt"
She squeezed his hand in response as they parked up at the restaurant. "But not as much as I love you" he leaned over to her and kissed her cheek.
She blushed "I love you too (h/n)"
"How could you not? Look at me" he gestured to himself cockily, she had to admit that he looked very attractive in his suit.
"Watch it (h/l/n), don't get too cocky" she flicked her hair over her shoulder as she opens the door.
They left the car and headed for the doors. He opened the door for her and placed his hand on her lower back as he lead them in.
The lobby was grand: rich, burgundy carpet decorating the floor and bodyguards at every door. The couple walked into the bar and he introduced her to all his colleagues and friends. Luckily, all his friends had brought their girlfriends so she wasn't too out of place. Everyone had a few drink and got to know each other, this wasn't so bad after all - she thought to herself. She pulled down the hem of her dress self consciously and looked at her boyfriend. He held her hand calmly and squeezed it reassuringly, smiling at her as he did so.
"You may enter now" one of the waiters said to the guests. All the guests were ushered in by staff to the grand dining room. Tables decorated with Christmas crackers, wine and tinsel were scattered around the floor. She sat next to her boyfriend on a table with his friends and their girlfriends, continuing the conversations from before-mainly concerning how much everyone had drunk, including his friend who drank his bosses pint by accident.
The food was amazing and once everyone was finished the drinks came rolling in once more. The buffet tables had been removed to reveal a dance floor, the bar just behind it. (h/n) dragged her up to the bar and ordered two jäger bombs, the glint in his eyes filled her with determination. She knew that he'd want to race.
3. 2. 1.
She downed the shot and slammed the glass on the table before he had finished. She smiled cheekily at him as he just stared at her in admiration.
"But I always win"
"Not to me you don't" she smiled triumphantly.
Before she knew it he was pulling her by her hand to the dance floor. This was going to be embarrassing, she thought. She stood still once she got there and he looked at her "come on babe, dance with me"
He held her hands and moved her with him, he looked her in the eyes. His eyes shone with happiness as he pulled her closer to him, bodies pressed closely together. She rested her head on his chest as they swayed and moved to the beat of the music. She looked up at him lovingly and he held her waist tightly, leaning down to meet his lips with hers. They kissed deeply, now standing still with her hands wrapped around the back of his neck. The music turned into a blur around them and they forgot about everyone who surrounded them. That was until...
"Oi Oi (h/n), get in lad!" The boys from one of the tables shouted at your boyfriend. The two started to giggle and he rested his forehead on hers as he gave the table of guys the middle finger. The couple smiled at each other happily wanting nothing but the other.
"Merry Christmas (y/n)"
"Merry Christmas, thank you for everything"
