"Oh my gosh! This food is amazing!" Macy stated in between massive bites of her meal. I looked down at my food and boy did it look great. The steak was cooked perfectly and it was super moist. I cut into it, watching the juices dribble out, and I took a bite. The flavors exploded in my mouth, it was delicious. The meat melted in my mouth like butter. "This is pretty damn good." I agreed with Macy. We looked over at sonnie who was half submerged into her bowl of whatever soup. "Having fun sonnie?" Macy laughed and sonnie looked up. "This place is amazing Macy. The foods delicious and the view, well it's amazing also." Sonnie had a point. The view was stunning, we were seated right next to the window about 16 stories up looking over a part of the rainforest. "Yea. The view is stunning. Although the walk to get here wasn't that pleasant." Sonnie shook her head in agreement with what I had just said. "I don't understand why the elevator would be broken, but it's fine." Sonnie went back into her bowl of soup, leaving me and Macy to talk and dine. "Why haven't you eaten your salad Macy? It looks exquisite." She looked over at it. "I think I'm gonna take it to-go and let you or sonnie have it, I don't eat salad." I let out a little laugh. "Sonnie eating a salad?" That's about as rare as my steaks right now. Macy laughed and sonnie continued eating. Obviously ignoring our remarks. "We love you sonnie. No worries." She smiled at me and took a sip of her drink. "Macy you should call a cab soon. We're almost finished it looks like." Macy stopped eating and picked up he glass. "Finished?... Girl we've just begun!" We all toasted to her statement and dug in to our delicious Amazonian food.
A huge appetizer, three gigantic meals, and two desserts later I could barely move. "I guess I should call the cab now." Macy said with a loud burp. I laughed unable to move much. "Would you ladies like anything else?" Our waiter had come multiple times and was probably thrilled when sonnie told him no thanks. "Well enjoy the rest of your stay, I hope everything goes well for you three.". "Cab should be here in 7 minutes." Macy said. "Alright let's get this train moving. We have a lot of stairs to go down" Sonnie stood up and began making her way to the door. Macy and I held back. "Ugh if only the elevator was working. I cannot go down those stairs!" I laughed and stood up to follow sonnie. "Hey guys! Look!" Sonnie had a huge grin and was pointing off to the left. And standing there like a metal god was a working elevator. The three of us rushed into the elevator and pressed the first floor button. "How did we not see this before?" I said. The elevator jolted, signaling that our descent had begun. After what seemed like 5 minutes, the elevator doors opened exposing us to the humidity and darkness of the night.
We had been waiting for 4 minutes when a cab screeched to a stop in front of us. Sonnie opened the door and froze still. "Sonnie what the hell? Get in." Macy shoved sonnie slightly, but sonnie backed up. "Sonnie what the he-" I went to get in but froze. The same cab driver we had had earlier was holding a gun to our head. "Get the fuck in and don't make a sound about it, if you do I swear I will run you all over with no hesitation.". My blood was running cold. And slowly, one by one. We got in.
