I jogged down the stairs dressed and ready to leave, noticing Damon walking calmly towards the door fiddling with his car keys. I jump to the bottom smiling at Damon trying to figure out his emotions. But it seemed like he wasn't too sure himself. He was a bit tense. I think.

"You ready?" He asks awkwardly smiling. I nod and return the smile before heading out the door. I was quick on my feet to reach the car and even so Damon made it before me to open the door for me.

"Damon you don't have to-"

"But I do." I slide in without question as he gets in the other side. He softly coughs and pulls out the driveway.

"So what's the plan?" I ask breaking the silence. Damon quickly looks at me with panic.

"F-for what?"

"Uh for today? I'm planning on driving home today so I need to account that." I play with my fingers.

"Oh." His voice drops, "don't you want to stay another night?"

"I mean I have to go home at some point Damon, I am an adult, I do have a job." I look at him trying to find an answer.

"C-can I come too?" I sigh.

"I don't want to get into this again."

"Get into what? Who said anything's going to happen?" I look at him. He looked really uneasy, mixed emotions. His whole act was strange to me, sad and drained then suddenly happy and enthusiastic.

"You can come next weekend when I'm not working-"

"Where do you work?" We barely know a thing about each other.

"I uh- um." I tense up and smile cautiously. "I work for my mum, she's a Florist." Damon chokes.

"What."

"Yeah, I, um I surprised it never came up before-"

"You live with your mum?" I shrugs my shoulders.

"What's the big deal if I do." I sigh knowing all too well there would be a big deal.

"Well, you're 22, isn't that a little old to be living with your parents." I scoff.

"My mum's almost old enough to be retired, I pay most her bills. Like you would understand." I feel a strong tension grow between the two of us.

"Sorry I didn't mean to assume."

"No it's fine." I look up and offer him a weak smile but his sad eyes remain on the road. "Sorry for being harsh, I worry about her a lot."

"So why are you here with me when you could be with her?" That was a good question. I laugh awkwardly.

"I don't know myself." I admit. "She with my uncle on weekends." I raise an eyebrow at Damon, "and you're kind of nice... I guess." I giggle and Damon smirks.

"Oh how you make me blush." He pulls into a driveway I would assume was Jamie's. "You know we can still sleep together and be friends?" I snort.

"In your dreams Albarn."

"No I'm being serious, and once you start believing that I want you we can be something." He grins widely and I scrunch my face up.

"I'm okay, I think you could probably try harder than that." He scowls at me and I stick my tongue out. "Leave yourself a couple weeks and come back to me on your offer, I'll let you know." He chuckles and casually pecks me on the cheek.

"Come on then, hard-to-get." Damon half smiles and get's out the car quickly than I could process what he had just done. I was trying so hard all this time to be in control of our whole situation I hadn't realised how easy he could just turn it back to his own control.

I get out the car and walk to the front of the house where Damon is knocking hard on the door. We both hear rustling behind the fuzzy glass before a familiar face appears in front of us, he looked taken aback that I was stood in his doorway.

"Hey guys, come on in." Jamie opens the door wider and Damon places a hand on my back leading me through the door. I take my shoes off on the mat and push them out of the way. Both Damon and I follow Jamie towards a large room with drawings littering the walls and floor. There was a small-ish sofa taking up part of the room with a dim lamp lighting up the small of the furniture. I stand awkward by the wall as Jamie sits on a desk chair besides a littered and stained table. Damon walks around looking at the sketches on the walls in a story board like fashion.

"So, Dee. How have you been?" Jamie confidently asked looking directly into my eyes.

I pause and take a few seconds to think. "I've been okay, nothing too exciting." I see Damon in the corner of my eye suddenly look over at me raising an eyebrow. "Yourself?" I clear my throat.

Jamie looks over at Damon staring at me and quickly tries to gather himself to understand what was going on. "Yeah. Um, yeah I've been good..." He trails off looking between the both of us before quickly changing the subject. "Damon, any new materials." I look over at Damon who looks startled.

"Yeah, uh a couple songs."

"You alright?" Jamie peers over quickly before switching on his computer. Damon crosses his arms.

"Yeah nothing exciting..." He copies my words making me feel a little hurt that he had taken them personally. "I'm going to the bathroom quickly." He announces before running out the room. I run a hand through my hair and walk to sit down on the sofa.

"What's up with him?" Jamie keeps his eye contact locked on his computer. I bite my lip.

"Uh, I don't know. He's been weird and all over the place since I asked to just stay friends." I explain. Jamie turns and looks at me scowling.

"You asked to just be friends?" I nod as he sighs. "Damon's not in a good place at the moment. Takes everything to heart."

"Oh I-"

"The other day he got mad at me and suddenly then started joking around like nothing happened." I blink listening to his words. "And he doesn't normally stay attached to a one night stand. No offense."

"None taken." I reply a little disheartened. His explanation made sense though Damon seemed a little off. I'm not even sure if I know the 'real' Damon or ever met the 'real' Damon. Either way Jamie was right, he was acting strange, I don't expect anyone to carry on talking to a one night stand. It's kind of weird.
