Edward woke with a start, and the first thing he felt was being slammed with a sudden headache. He very quickly remembered he'd drank too much the night previous, and with a pang of fear realized he couldn't exactly... remember the the night previous. He then realized that Oswald was curled up next to him, using Ed's chest as a pillow. Edward wasn't sure what to think of this, his mind immediately going to the most extreme scenarios. What if we... Oh dear. He was fully clothed to his relief, ruling out that... anything had happened.

He hadn't realized, however, his movement from waking up had caused Oswald to awake as well, who stretched a bit against Edward. Oswald met Edward's eyes, winking. "Last night was fun."

Edward hoped his face wasn't as red as he thought it was. Last night was fun. If only he could remember... Maybe we did...? He wasn't sure why the thought scared him so much, perhaps, it wouldn't be awful if it had happened, he just wished he'd been sober enough to remember it... "Yeah... Uh, what happened though?" Oswald bit his lip and frowned, obviously unhappy at the fact Edward didn't remember. "What?! I was drunk, it's not my fault." Edward mumbled defensively.

Oswald sighed, shutting his eyes. "Nothing... really happened, ok?"

"I know when you lie because you always close your eyes. Something happened, didn't it?" Edward still couldn't rule it out, wondering why Oswald was cuddled up next to him, saying 'last night was fun'. What happened last night?

"What do you mean, 'something happened'? Why would you think anything happened? I don't know what you want me to say." Oswald muttered, still not letting up.

"I just want to know what happened! You obviously know, and I don't, so I want you to fill me in!" Edward mumbled, searching for his glasses.

"I found you up here, and I figured out you were drunk, and you fell asleep pretty quickly and that was all. Why are you acting so weird?!" Oswald hissed, carefully avoiding mentioning the kissing. He stubbornly figured if Edward wasn't sober enough to remember then what would the point be in mentioning it anyway? Everything was ruined now. Whatever peaceful feeling that equally returned love gave was whisked away, leaving Oswald in the same place he'd been before.

"And that's... It? That's all that happened?" Edward asked doubtfully, raising an eyebrow.

"Why would I lie to you?" Oswald forced a smile, chuckling lightly.

Edward frowned. "You're doing it right now. What happened last night?!" Oswald took a shaky breath in, and Edward could swear he could visually see him trying to think of some valid falsehood. Edward bit his lip, staring at the covers. "You don't have to hide anything from me, Oswald."

Oswald narrowed his eyes. "I'm not."

"You are," Edward huffed, "if I did anything reckless or harmful last night, I need to know. Something happened last night. So please, please, tell me what happened..?"

"You don't trust me." Oswald announced.

Edward scoffed. "Stop avoiding the question."

"No! No, I'm not avoiding your stupid, previously answered questions! Edward, I told you what happened. I don't know what scenarios are running around your head, but I didn't lie. You don't trust me." Oswald hissed, voice cracking.

Edward paused, giving Oswald a betrayed look before chuckling sarcastically. "I'm your best friend, and you won't even..." He trailed off, shaking his head. "I don't want to argue. But you don't have to lie to me."

Oswald sighed sarcastically, biting his lip. "I'm not lying to you, Ed. I promise. I found you up here, found out you were drunk, and we talked for a short while, and then we fell asleep."
