Stella woke up in a dark room, very elegantly decorated, but dark. She had half a mind to believe it was her old bedroom at the state home. But that thought ended quickly when she saw the man sitting in the corner of the room.
"Where am I..." she tried to force her eyes to focus but whoever this man was knew exactly how to restrain her. She sat in a chair hands and feet tied, her glasses where gone. Without them she was practically blind, she was both farsighted and had an astigmatism in her left eye making both of her eyes hard to focus, let alone the darkness.
"I thought you'd never wake up, do you want these back?.." she herd the voice, she closed her eyes, it hurt too much to try to see him.
"Look Stell, well I guess you can't look but.. Anyway the names John, I just want to talk."
Stella glared icily
"Bite me!"
"Oh kinky, but no thanks, not right now anyway... how'd you do it?" That first comment made her sick to her stomach she realized she must comply until she could shift the status quo,
"What are you talking about, I'm sure this is just a misunderst-"
"The souls! How did Lilly escape I know you helped her! Counterparts can't communicate! What powers could you possibly possess. You know I even tried asking nicely but your 'little' friend was too stupid to catch on." she didn't like his tone, how does he know any of this? Why am I here couldn't he have just asked me at the house? Why did he go to this extent? John began to grow impatient, "Hun, I can read your
mind surely you know that. And you think I'm decently attractive? Well then the feelings mutual."
"You're sick, look Lilly and I don't talk, she got out in her own way. Please just let me go."
"Ok I tried being nice, maybe I'll try something else," he started to walk near her putting the back of his hand on her face she tried to pull away but some unseen force was pulling her towards him.
"You see your magic is strong, very strong. But I can't tell what it is, well why don't we force it out shall we." All the sudden her hands where no longer bound, he grabbed her left wrist and held it tight.
"You see, I like you. You're, different, that counterpart of yours is a real pain. But you... I could let this sass go." As that sentence finished he released her wrist it stung like something had stabbed it.
"You'll dine with me won't you?" He said almost as a demand.
"Do I have a choice?"
"Smart girl, here wear this." He tosses a backless gold dress her direction. She didn't know what was worse the fact that he had her here in the first place, or that he knew her exact sizing for a dress...Down the hall a ill-lit dining room was set up, John, sat at the head of the table a chair sat next to him.
"Sit won't you?" She did as asked her wrist still stung.
"I'm sure you're well aware of the more obvious side effects of your 'condition' like the tasteless food and the lack of sleep, what else do you experience."
Stella gulped, How.... this is
"Crazy you're right, just answer the question dear."
"Well sometimes... um," she racked her brain trying to think of anything that could be out of the ordinary, "sometimes I see things before they happen, deja vú, but everyone gets that sometimes right?" She couldn't think of anything else to say.
"Please elaborate, nothing can be ruled out as 'normal'."
"Well I see faces, sometimes events before they happen." She felt as though she couldn't hold back anything from being said. Rambling, she thought, just like at the house, what's with this guy..
"Do you mean events that could end in disaster?"
"Yes..."
"Well there we go! You're a predictor! But you're magic trace is still high. You must have another power. Well then." Just then she saw a glitch in the mans face. His eyes, for only a second, changed from the dark brown to a green. And we're those glasses she saw?
"Our time is up, Au revoir!" Only she heard that last part in her mind.Suddenly Stella shot up intently her eyes wide open. She was in her bedroom at the Skeletons house. A dream that's all. She looked at her wrist it was throbbing, it was purple, she much have hit it in her sleep. She grabbed her glasses from the nightstand and squinted at the clock, '6:45 am' "ugh not again!"
She walked downstairs and saw the two brother asleep on the couch as she walked into the kitchen she heard sans jump up,
"There you are kiddo! We've been looking for you all night, where did you go?!"
"What I just woke up?"
"Kid we called you like a hundred times look at your phone."
To her amazement she had well over a hundred missed messages and calls from the two brothers and quite a few from Lilly's sans as well.
"What... look at my wrist maybe it could tell you something." She rolled up the sleeve to her pajamas, there was noting there.
"Kid of this is some kind of sick joke I don't want to hear it, you are a minor, you are in our care. You don't leave this house in strange hours of the night got it."
"But I- ok I'm sorry sans it won't happen again."
"It's fine kiddo you just scared us that's all."
Stella knew she didn't leave the house something is going on here, if only she knew what.
