A/N Still on the plane, I just finished writing chapter 9, so now it's time for chapter 10! I hope to finish it while I'm still on the plane because I'll get there 8:30, get home 9, then sleep FOREVER because I am SO TIRED right now! I made the picture at the top of the page, comment what you think about it! With me, you never know how long it is until next chapter, and I am very sorry. I write when I have free time, which is not a lot these days, unfortunately. *sighs* Well, enjoy!
*Hermione POV*
Once we got home from that awkward car ride, Draco and I parted ways. Draco went to the library, while I retreated to our bedroom. Our bedroom, it still felt weird on my tongue.
Of course, over the past few days, we had slept together- well- you know what I mean. We slept in the same bed together, actually SLEPT.
As much as I wanted to check out our supposedly huge library, I needed to be by myself right now, figure things out.
I made myself comfortable on my side of the bed and was just about to, um, think, when all of a sudden, a large, tawny owl flew in through the air into the room.
I got up and let the owl perch on my shoulder, as I read the letter, horrified. It was barely legible through large, wet blotches. It said:
Hermione,
Hannah died last night, she has been struggling with a Muggle disease called Brain Cancer, I think. She never told me, I had to find out from the Healer I summoned. I'm really sorry to bother you, but I really didn't know who else to tell first, you've always been such a kind friend to me, you're like a sister to me. Please tell the others. It would mean a lot to me if you and everyone else would come to the funeral. Of course, you don't have to. I know you must be busy with your own lives, but I- invite you, Draco, Harry, Ginny, Blaise, and Luna to come. Let me know by owl if you're coming.
Your friend,
Neville Longbottom
Poor Neville! Hannah... Hannah who?
I walked to the library, it was no use avoiding him.
I walked in and was greeted with quite the amusing sight. There was Draco, in front of the fire, not wearing a shirt, a book opened on his abdomen. I shook his shoulder lightly.
"Draco," I whispered.
"Huh, I'm up, what happened?"
"You fell asleep and it's not good for you to sleep in a chair."
"Oh, thanks," he muttered and yawned.
"Hey, Draco, who did Neville marry?"
"Uh, any reason why?"
"Just tell me," I snapped.
He looked taken aback.
"Sorry, I just wanted to know."
"Hannah."
"Hannah who?" I asked impatiently.
"Hannah Abbott."
"The Hufflepuff?"
"Yeah, now are you going to tell me why?"
"She died yesterday."
"What?!" he yelled, "How?"
"Cancer."
"Oh, the Muggle illness."
"Yeah." We stood there in awkward silence.
"So, whatcha reading?"
Draco laughed.
"You just told me someone died, and now you're asking me what I'm reading!?"
"Right, not the time, sorry."
"It's fine. I'm reading a book series called Wings of Fire. It's about dragons that can talk, can you imagine?"
It was my turn to laugh.
"Draco, I used to read that book all the time before I came to Hogwarts! It's a Muggle children's book!"
"You recommended it to me! You said it was an adult Muggle book."
"Huh, guess I lied. It is quite amazing. Humans are portrayed as Scavengers if I remember correctly."
"Is that what Scavengers are?! I never got that!"
"Which book are you on?"
"Escaping Peril."
"Oh, that one was my favorite!"
"You want to come read it with me?"
"Sure." I curled up next to him on the couch and read over his shoulder. We probably fell asleep there. That's not healthy. Eh, who cares?
*Ron POV*
I was so excited! We were going to see everybody again! Harry, Hermione, Luna, oh and Draco and Blaise, and all their children! I was telling my kids what to expect.
Pansy, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found. I didn't dwell on it though because I knew she always turned up eventually. She was a very private person, and she deserved her privacy.
"Lincoln, Faye, and Josy, we'll be leaving in a few days. You'll meet your Aunt Ginny, your Aunt Hermione, and your Aunt Luna. You'll also see Uncle Harry, Uncle Blaise, and Draco, you don't have to call him uncle though because I don't like him."
Unfortunately, Pansy chose just that moment to enter the room.
"Don't say that Ronald. I am very close to their Uncle Draco!"
"Sorry dear."
The kids giggled.
"Don't forget to be polite to everyone, understand?" Pansy said to the children sternly.
"Yes," chorused all three of them.
"Good, and ignore everything your father says about Draco and Blaise, they're wonderful. If anyone, I'd be wary of that Harry..."
"Pansy," I whined, "He's been my best mate for 19 years, he's the best of all of them, except Hermione, she's great too." Pansy rolled her eyes.
"Whatever you say, dear. Also, I was wondering if we could visit my parents before everyone else-"
"WHAT!? Why would you want your parents to, just, what?!"
"I want them to know their grandchildren. Maybe they've gotten over the whole marrying you and then moving away for a few years... Nevermind, no they won't, but I want to go see them anyway."
"Fine, it's your decision I suppose, but I will draw my wand at the first sign of trouble, okay?"
"Alright, I suppose that's fair."
"I'll send Draco a letter saying when we'll come."
Dear Draco,
How does the day after tomorrow sound?
Lots of Love,
Pansy, Ron, Lincoln, Faye, and Josy
A/N Okay, I finished this chapter literally minutes before landing, just in time. The flight attendant wasn't thrilled though because I finished it long after she made the announcement to stow away all laptops, blah blah blah. I really hope you enjoyed this sleep-written chapter, and bear with me until I have time to write the next one. I won't write this weekend because it is New Year's but after that, we'll see. I make no promises.
