Chapter 17:

~Third Person P.O.V.~

Just before Nicole's ax was an inch close to the Governor's head another gunshot rang out as Nicole fell to the ground holding her side. "..Nice try,"  Martinez spoke before putting his gun away.

"Take her to the truck." The Governor spoke just before he walked out.

Twenty minutes later Daryl finally caught up to his sister and brother, or so he thought as he started to see walkers feasting upon some of the governor's men. He quickly walked past them as he spots a certain someone.

It was Merle. Now fully turned into a walker. Tears started to form in Daryl's eyes as he started to cry. Merle or what was Merle stood up stumbling towards him and little by little Daryl backed away. As Merle got close Daryl shoved him away as he cried "No!" Merle would just keep walking towards him until Daryl took out his hunters knife and drove it under Merle's neck into its head. As they fell to the ground Daryl took out the knife and kept stabbing Merle in the head as he cried. He kept stabbing Merle in the head for a straight minute until he got off of the corpse. He just stared at what was his older brother. The man he looked up to at times. The one that was always trying to protect him and his sister.

Wait... Where's Nicole..?

As Daryl stumbled to get up off the ground he called out "Nic!" No response. She can't be dead too... Daryl though as he stood up grabbing his crossbow in the process. "Nicole! Where are ya?!" He called again as he started to look through buildings that are near, but it only took him a few minutes until he saw his sisters ax on the ground in a pool of blood.

Just by looking at it made Daryl fall to his knees.

He gently grabbed his sister's weapon as a sob came from his lips. "Nicole!!" He yelled in panic. "Nicole god damn it answer me!" He yelled again. Still no response. She's gone... He thought My little sisters gone...

After an hour of walking back to the prison, the whole group is starting to prepare.

Beth was getting Judith's things ready as Carl and Hershel were getting their things packed also. As for Ares since she was new she didn't have much so she just left it. Now Carl being the last one done walked out into the inner yard where the car was. "Carl" Rick spoke grabbing his arm for Carl to only jerk away from him as he walked. As Carl came to the back of the car Ares took his bag placing it into the back of the car along with everyone else's belongings.

As for the Adults Glenn walked over to Rick saying "I've never seen him this mad. Even with Lori, he just shut down." "He's still a kid... It's easy  to forget." Rick muttered as he shut the trunk of a car. Rick then walked over to a light green car.

As for Carol, she walked over to Daryl as he spoke "You know Merle never did anything like that his whole life. Nicole too, I mean I didn't even see her... " "They gave us a chance.." Daryl then looked up at Carol as she held out her hand helping him up as she gave him a small smile before walking away. Letting him finish getting ready as he grabbed his poncho and his arrows.

Now as Rick does one final check around the prison on the second level Michonne comes to the stairs, "Were ready." She said as Rick started to come down. "The deal the Governor offered about me--you had to think about it... you had to.. I get it.." As they both started to walk together Rick mumbled a short "Yeah," in response. "I'm sorry. I came real close." "But you didn't." Michonne pointed out as they both entered the dining hall. "I never thanked you.." 

"For what..?" Rick questioned as he shuts the cell block door that separates the cafeteria from the cell block. "For getting me out there that day, taking me in," Michonne spoke turning towards Rick. "Well, if you didn't have that baby formula...I wouldn't have."Rick said back. Michonne gave him a look. "You could have just taken the formula.." "Well.. must have been something else, then. You know, it was Carl who made the call...He said you belonged here. You're one of us." With that, both of them walked out of the prison.
