As you can see, there are about 29 choices there BUT not all are genres. Things like 'Billionaires' and 'LGBT+' are not really genres but there were just so many books that runs along the theme of LGBT+ and billionaires (You know the rags-to-riches romance. Yeah, guilty) that they had carved a place for them on Wattpad.
Now when you click one of these category, you will see this:

Alright. Back on track, you will see this page and LOOK UP WATTPADERS!
This particular page is GOLD. You hear me, GOLD.
All those words there are not there for fun. Those words are TAGS that people commonly search with and these tags basically is like signs that direct potential readers into your literature arms. Basically to get them to read your books. I will touch on this later in "Works" but keep this page in mind.
HOT
you see the word next to 'Explore'? Well, it's the HOT list and this is something that you should aim for.
Why? Well, this is because the Hot list meant that many people will soon read your books here. The selection changes I believe every month or so and there is a link to apply your books to get to the Hot list but note that the admins are shortlisting at least thousands of request so make sure your story is AS POLISHED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE before you apply.
I would suggest to submit the request only when you think the book is as polished as possible because let's be serious here. If your first submission had alot of errors and the next one is not much better, do you think the admins would give your books a second glance (well, third) after that? There are more than a thousand request every month and they are only like a handful of the admins so make that 1 request that count.
