A New Life (Kaze No Stigma)

Chapter 8

Kimi's POV~

After what happened last night with Kazuma I've been trying to avoid him, which considering the fact we live together makes it pretty impossible. So basically this morning I acted as though I was asleep until I knew he had left the house. 'I still can't believe he did that. I mean I love him but Ayano says he's nothing but a flirt. What if he's only flirting with me? I just don't want to give in and end up getting my hopes up ya know?' I thought as I got up and got dressed. After changing, I left my room and made myself breakfast. Once I finished my yummy breakfast I went over to the living room sofa and sat down.

I then turn on the Tv and watch the news. "It seems as though another family has been victimized. The Dokiyama family house was broken into and now the family is missing," I could stand what I was hearing anymore so I turned off the Tv. 'All those poor families. I wonder what happened to them and why it happened to them.' Suddenly my phone started to ring. As soon as I picked it up an answered it all I heard from the other line was yelling from my worried friend,  Mei. 

"Kimi where the heck are you?! All the teachers at school say you're now homeschooled. What happened and why haven't you called me?!" she cried. I then calmed her down and explained my whole situation. "Ah, so that's what's going on," she said once I finished my explanation. "So this Kazuma guy, is he cute?" Mei asked. My face just lit up fifty shades of red. 

"Mei!" I squeaked. "My lives in danger and that's what you're concerned about?!" All I could hear now was Mei's laughter. 

"Sorry, Kimi. It's just the way you talked about him gave me the impression that you really liked him so I was just curious," she giggled. 

"I-I-I m-me-mean h-he i-i-is b-but th-that's n-no-not th-the p-poi-point h-here," I muttered. I could just picture Mei's amused smirk. 

"So you do like him, huh?" she teased sounding amused.

"Sh-shut up! H-he's a-a b-bi-big f-fl-flirt s-so I-I d-doubt h-he r-real-really l-likes m-me an-anyway," I said pouting. 

"I don't know Kimi. I mean one he saved you on multiple occasions, two he flirts heavily with you, and three he's letting you live with him. Guys just don't do that for anyone you know. He may actually really like you,"

"Y-you really think so Mei?" I asked nervously. 

"Absolutely. That boy is a hundred percent smitten with you," She answered with a giggle. "Hey I have to go now but I'll talk to you soon. Bye!" Before I could say bye back she hung up the phone. I simply let out a soft laugh as I shake my head. 'What I am gonna do with that girl?'

Just as I stood up from the sofa the front door opened revealing Kazuma. I looked over at him with a smile. "Well hello, Kazuma. You're home quite early. Did you leave something?" Kazuma walked over to me with a smirk. 

"No. Today I'm taking a break and am leaving it to the princess to handle. So I was thinking we could go out," he exclaimed. 

"Sure. sounds like fun!" I beamed with a giggle. Kazuma chuckled at my behavior before taking my hand in his and guided me out of the house.
