A New Life (Kaze No Stigma)

Chapter 3

Kimi's POV~

After a very long explanation, I finally calmed down. It turned out that the two people I ran into and saved me, Ayano and Kazuma, were mages. Ayano is a fire mage and Kazuma a wind mage. For some reason, the whole time Kazuma was explaining all this to me I couldn't tear my gaze from his amber brown orbs. It was as if I was trapped in this some kind of trance.

But the trance soon faded when Ayano spoke up. "So you know who we are but what about you? " 

"Oh. My name is Kimi Hakatashi. I'm just your average teenage girl. Nothing really special." I replied smiling slightly. 

"You seem special to me," Kazuma flirted. Ayano began to yell at him while I just put my head down as a deep red covered my cheeks. Kazuma picked up my chin and looked straight into my blue orbs.

Kazuma's POV~

As I looked into Kimi's eyes I saw something. I can't really explain what but it was different. I've never noticed something like this in anyone's eyes before. I soon allowed a smirk to appear on my face. 'There's something about her.' "There's no reason to hide your flustered face. I find it cute," Kimi's face darkened.

"Kazuma you perv!" Ayano shouted as she got in front of me and blocked me from Kimi. 

"I will take her home and I swear if you follow us I will make sure you regret it!" With that Ayano grabbed Kimi's wrist and dragged her away. I just smirked wider and watched as Ayano dragged Kimi away from sight.' I think I just made " Princess " jealous. Well, then this should be interesting.'

Kimi's POV~

"That perverted jerk! I swear I'm going to kill him!" Ayano shouted, still randomly dragging me.

 "Um....My house is just two blocks away from here," I spoke up meekly. When she looked at me her eyes had softened. 

"Okay...Hey sorry about Kazuma...He isn't usually like that. I mean he flirts but not like that," she said. 

"It's okay. I don't mind it much," I said laughing awkwardly.

As we finally reach my house I bid Ayano goodbye and went inside. I walked into my room and looked at the clock. 11:28 pm. Just then I got a text from Mei. " Hey just got home. The party was great but it'd be better if you were there. So how was your night?" the text said. For a moment I froze.

'What am I supposed to tell her? I can't just say I ran into two mages and they saved me from an evil spirit. I'll have to make something up.' I quickly type. "Oh, nothing much. Studied at the library for a while, came home and ate dinner, then watched T.V." I sent the message then sat my phone on my desk. I threw myself on my bed and began to think about what Ayano said earlier.

'What did she mean by Kazuma doesn't normally flirt the way he did with me? What makes me so different? Could Kazuma actually like me? And Ayano, was she really upset because she thought Kazuma's actions were stupid or was she jealous he was treating a total stranger like she was someone special? I really don't know and all this thinking was driving me nuts. I think I'll just get some sleep.' With that, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
