Don't Let Me Go

Monday

Louis had gone out to get a new pair of shoes so I took it as my cue to leave. I wouldn't have to see him or talk to him until I got back. Grabbing my backpack I went into the front of the house. I didn't pack a lot since I was only going to be gone for a few days.

Hugging all of the boys goodbye, I stopped at Niall. I hugged him extra tight, and he held me close.

"You be safe," he said. "If you are in trouble or need help just call me."

"Thank you. Just make sure Louis doesn't fly out to get me. I just don't need that right now."

"I'll try my best."

Hugging him once more, I walked out to Harry's car.

....

Louis' POV

Walking in the door things seemed awkwardly quiet. Sammie wasn't sitting on the couch which was unusual. Harry and Zayn weren't playing video games, and Niall and Liam weren't wrestling each other. I saw Liam come up the basement stairs, but he immediately looked down avoiding my gaze.

"Where is everyone Liam?" I asked him.

"No idea," he said bluntly.

Shrugging off his comment I walked over to the fridge when I saw a note stuck to the door.

'1:30 Harry take Sam to airport.'

Looking up at the clock it was 1:45. I just missed them.

"Did Harry take Sam to the airport fifteen minutes ago?"

"What? Oh, yeah Sammie went back home to Arkansas to visit Jackson. She said something about needing a break," Zayn said entering the conversation.

Without saying anything else, I ran outside. Hopping in my car, I sped off to the airport. What have I done? If Sammie went back home, I may never see her again.

....

Sammie's POV

"Flight 306 to Little Rock now boarding," the loudspeaker said. Hugging Harry goodbye, I grabbed my bag to get on board the plane.

"SAM!" Did I just hear my name? I must be imagining things.

"You be careful okay? Make sure that you come back here though. You promised that you'd only be gone a week, and I'm taking your word for it."

"I'll be back, don't worry. I love you Harry." Hugging him one more time, I walked down to the airplane.

"SAMMIE!"

Turning around I saw Louis. Harry was holding him back, like I was holding back tears. I had to do this.

"Sammie please don't go!" And with that, I stepped onto the plane.

....

Louis' POV

Not even bothering to park my car, I ran inside. Darting past people, even knocking some over, I ran to the gate where Sammie's plane was boarding.

"SAM!" I yelled out when I saw her. I watched her look up to see who had called out, but then she just went back to hugging Harry. Then I watched painfully as I saw her pick up her bag and walk towards the plane.

"SAMMIE!" I yelled once more.

Then she saw me. A tear fell down her face and I wanted to run over to her and wipe it away. I knew I couldn't though. I could see in her eyes that she knew she had to do this.

"Let her go Lou," Harry told me.

A look of utter sadness washed over Sammie's face.

"Sammie please don't go," I tried once more. Then I didn't see her again. She stepped onto the plane and I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.

"She's coming back in a week Louis, it's fine," Harry told me. His words were unconvincing. When she did come back, I knew that she'd change. She was going home, all of her friends were there. I wasn't there.

"What if it's over? What if I screwed any chance of this ever happening up?" I said looking at Harry.

"It's not over. Sammie has never felt this way about anyone ever before. She loves you. I mean look at me. I thought I was going to permanently be out of her life but she didn't let that happen. I gave her a concussion and called her terrible names for years and yet she still loves me. You made a few mistakes, it's not over."

"But what if it is?" I asked sadly.
