'I Hear You Calling In The Dead Of Night'

-----

I glared down at my blood stained hands-the blood of an innocent warehouse worker, the car sped down the dark wet roads of Oregon

"Zane" My mouth was dry

"Yeah, kid?" He replied focused on the road.

"Can you take me to the Bates Motel?" I ask. Hoping that he'd maybe hear my voice brake as i spoke and feel a little sympathy for me, but he didn't "no" he simply said. he wasn't turning this car back around.

"i-i need my medication" i tried to come up with an excuse but truth is i just wanted to get home to my family. "What do you take?" Zane asked, eyes focused on the road. "Symbax, i take symbax" i replied

"ill get some for you, but right now you have to go to my sisters. White Pine wouldn't be safe to be in right now, Lolita"

"Your sister?" I question wondering who she is.

"Yeah, Jodi"

Jodi, The Jodi Remo was telling me about.

"What'll happen with Dylan like.. If he comes back or something" I randomly asked.

"Nothin' the kids probably dead"

Dead. Dylan Masset dead from just one little hit to the face, Impossible. There was a possibility but not a strong one. I sighed heavily and laid my head against the cold fogged window and waited, listening to the sound of the windshield whispers repeatedly squeaking against the wet glass. Soon I found myself drifting into a deep slumber.

 -

My eyes slowly cracked open. My surroundings where different. I was no longer in the chilly car with my head on the cold window my head was rested in the warmth of a pillow and my body was suffocated under a flower patterned duvet. Where the hell was i? I had to be a Jodi's. i sighed and pulled the duvet off of my body and sat upright against the head board. Loud talking echoed through out the silent house- The television. I groaned and stood up. The glossed wooden floor cold beneath my bare feet sent chills throughout my body. The room was bare it had nothing in it but a full sized bed, a little coffee colored night stand and an old boxed TV. The door creaked as I slowly pulled it open

"Zane?!" I yell out into the dark hallways. I leaned over the Bannister a bit but i could see nothing but the dull light of the TV reflecting on the walls.

"Yeah?" Zane yelled back in reply. then I see his scrawny body slowly walking up the stairs. When Zane reaches the top step I notice that he's holding a white clear zip-lock bag with about 30 pills in it.

"Here, kid" Zane tosses me the bag expecting me to catch it but it falls to my feet. Zane is wearing a wife-beater and a pair of cotton pajamas with little monkeys on them.

"Are those, Symbax?" I ask dumbly knowing he wouldn't give me anything else. Zane shoots me a 'Duh' look.

"You hungry?" He asks.

God, I've been waiting for someone to ask me that question, I've been running on empty for days now, I nod. "Come on" Zane Beckons me to follow him, I follow him down the large staircase and into the kitchen. I take a seat at the table and wait for Zane to give me something to eat. I focus my gaze on the glass table as I speak

"How'd i get in here?" I don't remember even getting out of the car.

"Frank carried up up here" Zane says as he closes the refrigerator and slides me a sandwhich that's wrapped in clear plastic and a bottle of deer park water "Who is Frank?" I ask, Quickly grabbing the sandwhich and ripping off the plastic "Jodi's little body guard" Zane said, sitting next to me.
