The small six year old girl sat down next to a tired, older looking woman, who seemed to be asleep. The innocent child slowly inched closer to the woman, before she was nearly touching her. "Mommy?" the girl whispered cautiously. "Mommy?"

The older woman's eyes snapped open. She sat up noisily, sloshing yellow liquid from a bottle she was holding all over herself. "What?" she asked, clearly annoyed at being woken up.

"When are we going to go camping? You said that we'd go camping today, and I'm all packed too!" the girl said, patting a small suitcase that was sitting on the floor next to her.

The older woman's upper lip curled as she thought of a plan. Even in her drunken, shriveled state, the woman could think."Yes, (Y/N)... We're going camping today," she said, throwing down her bottle of alcohol. "Go and get your shoes on... I'll be there soon. I need to... Pack my own things. Alright?"

"Okay, Mommy!" the child said in a bright voice. At long last, she thought, we get to spend time together!

A few minutes later, the girl, (Y/N), had finished putting her worn sneakers on, and tied the laces sloppily. Her mother appeared, with just her handbag. "Is that all you're bringing, Mommy? What about clothes, and a tent?" (Y/N) asked.

"That's all already in the car," she lied. "Don't worry."

(Y/N) dragged her packed suitcase to the beat up, broken down silver minivan. Dents and scratches in the paint littered the entire vehicle, from reckless driving. She opened up one of the doors, placed her suitcase inside, and then climbed inside with it. (Y/N) buckled her seatbelt, and waited patiently for her mother to get in and drive them to the campsite.

Little did the girl know, her mother had other plans.

Once they were both safely bucked up, (Y/N)'s mother took a long slug of her beer, and then started up the car. "Mommy, where's the camping place at?" (Y/N) asked curiously, itching at a scabbed over area on her arm.

"Oh, not too far. We'll be alright," her mother responded, smiling to herself.

(Y/N) thought nothing of it, and hummed quietly to herself in the back seat as her mother muttered various curses to herself as they drove down the road. After a while, they turned onto a road (Y/N) didn't recognize. It soon turned from asphalt to dirt, and large trees began surrounding them. The car halted to a stop, after many twists and turns. We must be here, (Y/N) thought to herself, barely able to contain her excitement. "Okay, (Y/N), you get out first, and find a good spot. I'll get our supplies out," her mother said gleefully.

"Okay!" (Y/N) said, and she hopped out of the car with her suitcase, and began looking around. She hadn't noticed how dark and cold it was before, and how thick the forest was around her. A feeling of uncertainty surrounded her, and she turned around to look at her mother. "Mommy?" she said, but she was cut off by a car engine restarting. She turned around just in time to see her mother driving away--without her.

(Y/N) wasn't worried, though. Her mother had left her places before, but she'd always come back sooner or later. (Y/N) found a good, flat spot to set up their tent, and sat down there on top of her suitcase, waiting for her mother to return.

But she didn't.

Hours passed, and (Y/N) had wrapped her jacket around her small body, shivering as the temperature dropped further. There was nothing of use in her suitcase either, it was mostly empty, besides some dolls and another outfit, similar to the one she was currently wearing. The small girl hugged herself, and one small tear snaked its way down her face. It was a truly pitiful sight to see.

Just before dawn, a tall being was making its way through the same forest, looking for its own house to hide in from the daylight. He stumbled across a sobbing (Y/N), lips tinged blue from the cold, and a tear streaked face with rosy cheeks. He could sense her strong feeling of unhappiness, and walked towards her. She felt different from other children to him. "Hello, child," he said to her. "Why are you crying?"

"Because... My Mommy left me here all night," (Y/N) sniffled, wiping her nose on her arm.

"Is she coming back?" the being asked.

"Maybe," (Y/N) said tearfully. "I hope so."

"Stay here," it said, and it rose to its full height, scanning the treetops. No sign of any other humans other than the one in front of him. "I don't think she'll be back anytime soon."

"Then where will I go?" (Y/N) asked, fear settling into a cold pit in her stomach.

"I suppose... You can come with me," the being said. "Although, no one has lived with me for some time."

"Really? Can I?" (Y/N) asked, standing up.

"Yes," he said, extending a snow white hand to her.

The small girl placed her own hand in his. "What's your name?" she asked.

"Slenderman," he replied, and together, they walked through the woods as the sun rose above them, lighting up their way home.
