I picked at my cuticles and sighed, the conversation with Jack echoing in my mind, and his face burned into my eyes. I had long ago lost interest in the soap opera that was on TV. No one was around; they were all either out killing or asleep. The flat screen TV blared nonsense, and I rubbed my tired eyes, willing for something to just happen so I wouldn't be so bored. I rolled over on my other side, facing away from the TV, and pulled out my phone. It was just before midnight. I opened up Google and typed in 'things to do when you're bored'. Several lists of things to do came up, and I tapped on one called 'Websites to Go On When You're Bored'. I skipped over Netflix, Tumblr, and Buzzfeed, and the last website on the list was called 'Cleverbot'. I pursed my lips, and read the description of the website. Apparently, it was a chat bot you could talk to. I hesitated for a second, and then clicked the link. What did I have to lose? I opened up a chat.

Hi

Hello.

The response came quickly and naturally. Interested, I pressed on.

Who are you?

I suppose you think I am just a chat bot.

I would think so?

Would it shock you if I said that I wasn't?

I guess?

I'm just messing with you, dummy~ What's your favorite color?

(F/C), I guess.

I stayed in that position for hours, my back cramping up as I refused to move into a more comfortable pose. I finally bid the chat bot goodbye as I saw the sun beginning to rise outside. Warm light flooded through the white curtains, and I felt my eyelids getting heavy. Now that the rush of talking to a chat bot was gone, sleepiness took over. I switched off the TV, and folded the throw blanket I was using to cover myself. I picked up the empty bag of popcorn and soda cans and threw them into the trash can in the kitchen. I was about to head up the stairs when the front door opened, and Jeff, Jane, and Liu walked in. Jeff and Jane were arguing over something, their voices loud and harsh, and Liu slunk in behind them, dark bags under his eyes. The two had probably been going at it all night. I felt bad for Liu.

"Why do you have to be such an ugly, annoying cunt all the time?" Jeff snapped at Jane. "I can't do shit without you suddenly appearing next to me and criticizing the hell out of whatever I'm doing?"

"It's not my fault you're just a dumbass who can't do anything right!" Jane retorted, crossing her pale arms in front of her.

"I swear to God, I'd kill you right here, right now, if that wasn't against Slenderman's rules," Jeff sneered. "I wouldn't even have to try hard. You'd go down quicker than Masky did when Toby tackled him yesterday."

"It'd take a lot more than you to kill me," Jane said snarkily. "You couldn't kill a fly."

"You wanna fucking go, slut?" Jeff hollered. "Fuck the rules. I'll take you down."

"Do it, pussy," Jane taunted. "Fuckin' do it."

Jeff leapt at Jane, his knife out. Jane simply stepped to the side, and stuck her tongue out at Jeff. "Pussy!" she yelled. Jeff snarled, his unblinking eyes red with rage. He leapt for her again, and Jane used the same tactic and stepped aside, avoiding the second attack as easily as the first. Jeff used a different technique this time, swiping his leg under Jane's feet, making her fall flat on her ass. It obviously took her by surprise, and she scrambled for her own knife, pulling it out of her knee high sock. She yanked the sheath off and rolled away just in time to avoid Jeff's stab. His knife ended up lodged deep into the dark wood floor, and he struggled to try and get it out.
