"Chris , wake up ! You're gonna be late." his Aunt shouts out , passing his room while she was getting herself ready for work.
Chris gets up , makes his bed and goes to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
-----------------------------------------------------------
He arrives at school and the empty hallways give a clear indication that he was late as fuck.
He looks around , checking if there would be anybody lurking , eager to learn his locker combination , then it came back to him that there was nobody there. Just him. He opens his locker with ease and comfortability.
He finishes packing three textbooks that he would need for the next three classes. When he turns around after closing his locker , he notices Jake and some of his teammates walking his direction. He turns the opposite direction , knowing what is to come.
He was learning to pick his fights because every time he fought , he got carried away and end up not being able to control his anger. One night he beat someone into a pulp unintentionally , hopefully. Some jerk spoke ill of his parents the night Marty and Abigail told him what had happened between them and with his parents.
When he left that night , he got lost while walking home. He wasn't aware of the direction he was going , lost track of time and got lost and confused in the dark. Then some punk who called himself Big Mac or something , 17 , walked up to him , informing him about the affairs his Dad had with Chris's Mom. He told him that they are half brothers. But Chris didn't believe him. Big Mac continued. He continued to badmouthed the woman that gave Chris birth. The woman that breast fed him. The woman he loved with all his heart. Although he lost most of his memory , he never lost that of his Mom or any of his family members , which the doctor found very amusing. Big Mac continued with his stories and then eventually , Chris lost it. He had no idea what came over him. It was rage , it was pain , it was everything. His parents , Marty , Abby , everything. Next thing he knew , Big Mac was lying there , blood all over his face. Chris had blood all over his hands. They both had blood all over their clothes. He panicked. He even ran away. But when he got a few feet away , he looked back , hoping Big Mac would get up. But he didn't. Once again , he began to run ... then something told him to stop. Someone told him to stop.
"This is not you , Chris. My Darling... don't."
"Mom ?? Mom , where are you ?? Mom ??!!!" he shouted out.He felt as if he was losing it. He was hearing his Mom's voice. The woman who passed away more than six months ago. For a second he even believed that he saw her right in front him. That she held him. That she ran her hand through his messy hair countless times , telling him everything will be okay. The knowledge of the fact that his parents died because of him was overwhelming. The pain was unbearable. However , in those few minutes they shared , she told him to stop believing that he was the reason for their death. She told him that she , they , sacrificed themselves to protect him which was their duty as parents. She told him that they'd do it over and over again if they had to and that they wouldn't regret a second of it.
He began to cry , he couldn't help it. He missed her. He missed his Dad too. He missed both of them so much. He just couldn't help but cry his eyes out in those few minutes. And for some reason , the news of Abigail's and Marty's betrayal added to the pain.
His Mom told him ... "I'll always be with you. I promise. From now on , never run from your fights , but learn to pick them, and never run away from your problems , no matter how crucial the consequences are." She then gave him a forehead kiss and vanished with the wind.
