"So when are we leaving for lunch ?" asked Jay
"We're not " Rebecca shot him down
"What why not ?" He looked at her shocked
"Mr.Josh announced an extra class , I have to be there " She grin
"Come on Becks you dont need an extra class in maths , you're already 99/100 " He pouted
"I'm the TA , you idiot , I have to go .. Rain Check? " She asked with her puppy dog eyes
He looked at her adorable face with love "I hate that you're so cute "
"I know " She jumped up and kissed his cheek
"No need to get all mushy on me " He said separating her from himself faking a disgust look .. and then smiled as she walked away ..
Meanwhile ...
"Mr.Scott you're Late Again " The Teacher yelled as Chris entered the room
"Sorry sir , I " he began but was cut off by a very angry Teacher
"Detention " He yelled , Chris tried to defend himself but the teacher warned him again ..
He looked down and walked over to Rebecca
"Hey , everything allright ?" She asked him worried
It was almost a month now , and his late appearance to school , his lost hours in the bus, it really worried her
"Yeah yeah , I'm fine " he startled and sat down
He got a good look at her and he took in a deep breath "you , you look really nice " He smiled
She couldn't help but blush "thanks " she turned to her notebook trying to hide her red face ..
"You okay ?" He asked noticing her unusuall behaviour
"Yeah , yeah im great " she laughed nervously
"Miss.Heart is there something you'd like to share with the class ?" The Teacher Raised his eyebrow at a laughing Rebecca
"No sir , " she looked down burying herself in her book
The class went by , "are you in the extra class for maths today ?" Rebecca asked walked with Chris
"I was , but I have something important at work , I have to take care of it .. I can't " He sighed
"But today he's covering the topics that you really needed help in , are you sure you can't make it ?" She insisted placing all the cards on the board
"Trust me I really want to , I'm failing big time in maths , but I can't , I don't know if I'm gonna be able to pass this class " he sat down passing his hand through his hair , his face was down to the ground , she knew he was really worried about this
"Okay , how about , you do whatever you have to do today , and then I'll help you get through to maths " She suggested
"You'd do that for me ?" He looked up at her , greatfully
"Chris , your my friend , I'll do anything for you " She took a step in her direction
Chris looked deep into.her eyes , he took a step forward , and he could swear that there was sparks flying , a magnetic pull that he felt .
"Hey you guys " Anna walked over to them
Rebecca and chris looked at her at the same time , taking a step back from each other ..
"Hey Anna " Rebecca smiled
Anna knew what she had interrupted but she wanted to have her fun with it
"Rebecca , I wanted to thankyou " She same closer to Rebecca smiling
"Thanks for what?" She asked
"For canceling on Jay today , he's taking me now .. I. Wanted to spent tome alone with him so much " Anna held her hand grining gratefully
"You Cancelled ? Why?" Chris asked confused , because they had been planing the lunch since yesterday
"It just sorta happened , its okay Anna " Rebecca dismissed it , she knew she didn't do it for her .. she just had to fill in for her responsibility
"I know nothing's more important than Harvey Josh for you , Rebecca "Anna winked at her and walked away ,
"Harvey josh ?" Chris asked
"The class that he's teaching today , I have to be there " Rebecca put the peices together for him
Chris felt like somebody had just hit him with a hammer
"Oh right , and there's nothing more important than him " He said in a disappointing tone
"Chris " She said not being able to understand his sudden tone
"No , its fine Rebecca , you like the guy , there's no doubt in the world about that " He said , hurt clear in his voice
"Chris , I'm " She wanted to say something hut he wasn't sure he was going to hear it
"I have to go " he said grabbing his bag and walking away , leaving her there ..
After the Maths Class ..
"Miss Heart can you stay?" Harvey asked after the bell rang
" yes , Mr.Josh ?" Rebecca walked over to his desk as students walked out of the room
"Sit down " He said grabbing a chair for her , which made a soft snile appear on her face
"Chris Scott , I believe he is your friend, I hope you don't mind me talking bput this with you , but he should really be attending all the classes he could , he's not doing well in the class " He said sitting down , after hearing Chris's name the expression on her face fell , she managed to get herseld together and answer him ..
"Yes , I know .. he was going to , but something came up and he couldnt come " Rebecca tried to defend him
"Is everything alright ?" He asked now worried to look at her ..
"Yeah , yeah everything is fine " She answered
"Miss Heart , Mr.Scott is failing , if there's anything keeping his attention away from studies, any personal problems or any other issues , he needs to see the counselor " He said in a very stern tone ..
"He's fine , just a little too worried about studies .. Its nothing to worry about " She manages to say , she didn't wanted to cause any trouble for him .. Mr. Josh smiled softly at her , he knew he could trust her word ..
"Rebecca , you are one of my Greatest Students , I'm letting him off the hook because of you , now I hope if there was anything wrong , you'd tell me ?" He said leaning on to the desk .
"Of course .. and for maths , I'll personally tutor him , I will make sure he passes the class " She confidently said
"Good , I have faith in you " He smiled at her ..
"You can go now " He added ..
She nodded and walked outside ..
Later that Week
Rebecca paced around with a phone waiting for it to Make a Beep Sound ..
"Hey , its me Again, I've left you 5 msgs. And you haven't got back to me which is weird because you always do , well , just let me help you okay , I dont know what's going on with you , but if you want to pass the Maths Test on Friday , you need my Help ... Call me Chris " she sighed hanging up
"No answer still ?" Asked Jay putting his pencil in the cup
"Nope " She sat down on the couch
"You know , I don't give a crap about people but I think , chriss has something very serious going on , and I dont think its Daddy Issues " Jay said confronting Rebecca
"You think it could be Drugs ?" Ella took her head out of the book
"He wouldn't do that " Rebecca defended him
"It's something Beccky , and you know it .. if you really want to help him , find out what !" Jay said closing his book ..
