"Paris has begun to celebrate, our two heroes Ladybug and Chat Noir have returned! The mayor has announced that a parade has been organised...."
The Broadcast played across the screen as Adrien came into the room, Emma on his back, the kids were so excited that Marinette and Adrien had saved the akumas. Now Paris was happy, and the chance of an akuma attack were diminishing because of the overall joy citizens seemed to be feeling.
"Put me down!" Emma squealed hitting Adrien's shoulder playfully. Adrien ignored her and continued to piggy back her around.
"I'm sorry little miss, but I afraid I can't do that." Adrien teased, the little girl on his back laughed.
Marinette smiled, she still couldn't believe that her dream had come true, marrying Adrien and having a family it was picturesque. She felt immense gratitude, however this wasn't hers, yet.
She sighed and turned back to the cookbook she was browsing through. One good thing about her future-self; she has excellent taste in cookbooks.
Louis sat one the floor, playing with his toys, and Hugo sat on the other side of the room. Marinette had been especially worried about him. He wasn't happy, he just sat, and was quite serious. Hugo rarely smiled, even when the akumas were cured, he just turned his attention back to the cookbook he seemed to be obsessed with.
Marinette decided that she would express her concerns to Adrien later on. Well maybe. She was close to Adrien of course, and they loved each other, but she didn't exactly know how he felt about this future with her.
He was so happy with all the kids, but this is a huge responsibility, to know your future and be a parent, after all. they are only 16, others their age are beginning to learn to drive, and they are beginning to learn to be a Mum and Dad.
More importantly, beginning to learn how to reach out to someone like a Mum and Dad would. Someone, namely Hugo. She needed to reach out to Hugo.
......
"Adrien?" Marinette began to pose her question.
"Yes?" He responded. They were in the bedroom, the 3 kids were asleep, and Adrien was preparing the couch that he had been sleeping on which sat across from the windowsill , always a gentleman, offering Marinette the bed.
"Adrien I need to be honest with you," Marinette started, apparently that was the wrong tone, because Adrien suddenly turned around to face her, eyes filled with worry.
"What, what is it, M'lady?"
Marinette swallowed away her nervousness and continued. " Adrien, I need to know how you feel about this future."
Adrien looked at her confused, she had asked a genuine question, but he had thought everything was going alright, Marinette didn't seem to be overwhelmed, and he was ok. Thoughts were buzzing around his head, a big one was if she was breaking up with him.
"M'lady I'm not sure I understand, I thought everything was OK, I love you, and I think our little family will be wonderful."
"Adrien this is a lot of responsibility on our shoulders, we are only 16! We have to learn to take care of these kids, which are really just one possible outcome of our future and.." Marinette was raising her voice, and her eyes became glassy, but she continued.
"We haven't even been together that long, and you have a whole life ahead of you! You shouldn't have me weighing you down, because the kids aren't ours yet! And they may never come into existence!"
