When The Falls Fell

"So it's only us three?" Saihara asked as he looked between them, "We started out with 16 and now-"

"You can cut it out now Saihara, no one is watching anymore" Maki sighed, "Let's just get this other and done with, shall we?"

"Fine"

That's when they did it- they got out. Himiko, Maki and Saihara, the three survivors that year. Quickly, they were greeted by the producer, Kiibo and Tsumugi greeting them with a wild smile.

"You guys did it!" she cried, "Our ratings when through the roof!"

"Huh? Really?" he asked, "But I thought-"

"Oh no no, that was planned, don't worry. We made you and the outside world think less people were watching. That made more people cry out that they love the killing games and want them to continue!" She explained cheerfully, "Hehe it went over wonderfully, better than ever expected."

"Alright, cool" Saihara hummed. Himiko found Tenko to go have a chat with her, and Maki seemed to have just vanished. But Saihara still had questions, "So uh, I do have to ask something?"

"Oh sure, go for it!"

"Wasn't I supposed to be the first killer?" He asked, "I was actually trying to figure out a way to kill Kaede but you guys never gave me the signal like planned. Why's that?"

"Ah, there was three reasons for that" she started, sorting out for glasses, "First, we couldn't think of a suitable punishment for the ultimate detective. We've never killed one off you see. Second, you were the fan favourite due to your boyish good looks and mysterious attitude. Kaede was nice, yes, but she was an open book. There was more to you. The third reason? Well imagine yours and everyone else's despair when the original main character was found to be the killer. No only that, but the first killing as well!"

"That, and I offered to take your place" Kaede said, as she walked over. Instead of what she had been shown wearing in the killing game, she was wearing a pink, fluffy sweater and leggings, "I just didn't like the idea of the ultimate detective going so early. I am a firm believer of them getting to the end and solving the mystery! You were exactly what I expected!"

"Awe well, thanks Kaede" he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, "It was just a shock to see you go so soon. You were really fun to act beside and well, I did start to miss you after a while honestly"

"Awe that's so sweet!" She coped, playfully hitting his shoulder before hugging him, "Well I was rooting for you the whole time-"

"And was the person playing music into my ear piece!"

"Guilty as charged, detective"

They laughed together for a bit, before deciding to collect their money and go get coffee along with Rantarou, Angie and Kaito.

"So an astronaut, huh?" Kaede teased as she stirred her tea, "Was that your idea, hmmm?"

"Actually, yeah!" He laughed, acting as full of energy as his character, "I mean I fit the roll, rightttt?"

"Mhm" she agreed, "Wouldn't be shocked if you already owned all those clothes"

"Truth be told, they are actually my clothes from home" he confessed, "I mean there is stars on the bottom of these shoes! That's awesome!"

"That's why you haven't taken off the 'costume', huh?" Chuckled Saihara before he shock his head, "You really are Kaito Hyakuta, the ultimate wanna be astronaut"

"Damn straight!" He laughed, "I wasn't bullshitting back there, I believed and meant every word that came our of my word back there!"

"Your character really did become you, Kaito" a familiar voice spoke, making them all look up, "Or were you already the character?"

There Maki was, smiling softly as them before sitting besides Kaito, "I'm glad, though I found you to be slightly annoying at first; your unmatched excitement and passion really was starting to rub off on me. Though I suggest quietening down. We maybe famous actors now but that doesn't mean you can get away screaming in a coffee shop"

"Hehe oops, you're right" he chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck shyly.

"Can I just say" Rantarou starts, flashing a creepy smile, "I was so waiting for you two to kiss"

"Oh shut up you avocado" Maki snapped back, "Why don't you go watch Mimiko and Tenko kiss you perv"

"Hm, not a bad idea" he chuckled, "So who saw me dying first coming"

They all raised they hand in sink, making him sigh softly then laugh, "Honestly, I would have bet on Saihara dying first, or the small guy. But fair enough, I guess the beautiful always do die young"
